M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8051 comments Especially not if, for example, McMini had decided he wanted him to buy a pair of skiing goggles for him 'because they look cool'. Two hours of intense haranguing!

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments And add in Patti's munchkins if you're really feeling vicious.

ah but it's a sign of good parenting that they can haggle. Not merely sulk or pout.
Haggling is based on the fact that you know you're not going to get your way so have to compromise

the patrician meets glitter that gets everywhere

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments The thought of the Patrician with glitter in his underwear is seriously boggling my mind!

In the Patrician's case, that means light gray.

Jim | 21813 comments He was always summed up beautifully for me when Pratchett had him reading music :-)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Ah yes - wonderful :)

Jim | 21813 comments Something of a first for me, on the 2nd somebody read 68 'Kindle Edition Normalized Pages' and on the 3rd somebody read 63.
I haven't a clue how much of the book that amounts to.
It has 1494 locations but lord alone knows how many pages

It's more a case of knowing he will wear us down. He's heard that bit in the bible where JC tells everyone that if you bang on at God long enough he will answer your prayers and taken it too seriously.

I have worrying visions of the Patrician covered in black glitter.

message 4513: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21813 comments Given he was a trained assassin (The Patrician, not McMini) he'd only wear in in circumstances where it would help him blend in.
Or of course, being the Patrician, in circumstances where it would freak others out :-)

message 4514: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21813 comments There again, if McMini has got you two typecast as the Unjust Judge in the proverb, you're going to have to work on your PR :-)

A collection of anecdotes, it’s the distillation of a lifetime’s experience of peasant agriculture in the North of England. I’d like to say ‘All human life is here,’ but frankly there’s more about Border Collies, Cattle and Sheep.

T4bsF (Call me Flo) (time4bedsaidflorence) Border Collies would have no bother with semaphore, or BSL as they are listed at the top of the list of "most intelligent dogs"

1. Border collie.
2. Poodle.
3. German shepherd.
4. Golden retriever.
5. Doberman pinscher.
6. Shetland sheepdog.
7.Labrador retriever.
8.Papillon.
9. Rottweiler
10. Australian cattle dog

to be fair the Mastiff's job is really to lounge about looking muscular until the collie taps it on the should and says something like "about this wolf." :-)
