Not a lot of experience if she's still capable of writing even a year or two after

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments She COULD be an Undead. I mean, it would explain the dungeon, and all that, wouldn't it?

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Will wrote: "Is that from personal experience, GL?"

Well if it was, I wouldn't be able to post here, would I?

G J (Gaff to my friends) Reilly | 1836 comments Oooo, I don't remember the last time I had poteen ... It really WAS that good! The only time I've come close was in Slovakia, when a very much beloved family member made wodka with wegetables and left over fruit they'd harvested in the mountains!

Jim ... Ordinarily, I'd kill to crawl on broken glass to have people buy my work. So far, I'm sure I've bribed myself out of a restraining order or two to foist a few freebies on people! Oh, to be so loved! ;-D

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Best curry sauce in the country is up by you, Jim.

Oh, did I tell you we made Kendal Mint Cake vodka? Think I did...

We gifted it to friends last week and it went over a treat.

We need to get more mint cake so we can make more.

Oh. I wonder what Barry Island rock vodka would be like...

So you can imagine how I felt. Not only that but it was somebody who contacted me through Facebook to buy them,
Being nice to people for a chance might even have worked!

I had Kendal Mint Cake vodka to try at Westmoreland show, somebody up here is making it commercially.
It was good

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Refreshing, eh?

We had to cut it with a heck of a lot of vodka, though. Started out sickening sweet.

message 4071: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21813 comments Yes, it was very much at the 'cordial' end of the spectrum. I think this bunch had got the sweetness about right

Jim | 21813 comments North of the county they've got troops in helping get ready. I think a lot of places have been digging out rivers and becks and to hell with what the environment agency might want

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8051 comments Happy Christmas everyone. I nearly got a lovely shot of McOther and my parents sitting in a row dead to the world. I crept out into the hall, got my iPad, held it up primed it and I was just about to press the button when McOther's eyes suddenly flicked open and he said,

'You think far too loudly to get away with anything like that, go and sit down.'

There wasn't really much I could do except guffaw and do as I was told. It was a pity though, I was so looking forward to posting it on my brother's facebook wall with the caption 'my interesting family'. Phnark.

Cheers

MTM

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I'm kind of sleepy, but I'm not geriatric quite yet!

Ignoring sales figures for A Much Arranged Marriage I'm delighted to confess that so far that I've sold over thirty e-books this month
Plus some paperbooks I've sold locally, which means it has to be my best ever month for sales

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments Do you think GL may be Ringo in disguise? He's into small trains too...

message 4095: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21813 comments could have done with that today, had to drive to Milnthorpe and back, and various of the roads are still blocked and it's pretty hairy at times

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments How're you doing up there, Jim?

Smart lads with diggers have taken over from quangocrats in London offices, and local authority engineers are finally getting to do stuff, so things were running better.
It all got complicated, daughter had crash on M6 just before Christmas, ended up in Carlisle infirmary with concussion. We drove up to collect her, she wanted to go home to Milnthorpe to her own bed (which seemed reasonable.)
Problem is they didn't give her anything in writing as to how you behave after serious concussion, so once she started feeling a bit better she started doing stuff, looking for new car on internet, that sort of thing.
We went over to Milnthorpe to have Christmas dinner (I did the trip twice, once to take youngest daughter to help with the cooking, once to turn up as guest with lady wife.)
Oldest wasn't well, on Boxing day got phone call, could I take her to hospital. So I drove to Milnthorpe again, collected her and brought her back to Furness General, which in spite of reports is a pretty good hospital. In A&E a specialist talked to her, told us all the stuff that Carlisle should have given her in writing (they might have told her but she had concussion) and she's spent the night here. Lady wife is taking her back to Milnthorpe again now with youngest daughter who's going to have a couple of days with her until, probably, Tuesday, when I go and collect her so she can go back to Leeds on Wednesday.
So it's been a bit complicated and not at all restful.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Oh crap, Jim.

I'm so sorry about daughter. Concussion isn't to be treated lightly. Thank goodness for family to help care for her.
I hope she mends quickly.

She should do. As long as she takes it easy!
