My only knowledge of squid, from a childhood-watched cartoon. They appear to be remarkably talented.

Might have had bits of squid in other stuff, who knows. Probably tastes of chicken

Mrs Martinus has. She likens it to seawater mixed with snot.

I was going to say 'Not for forty years' but remembered I'd swum in the Med so not for thirty years then.
To be honest I've always found swimming pretty boring. Especially when you have poor eyesight and cannot wear your glasses. I'd far rather go for a walk

My eyes were worse than -10 so I got free eye tests
When I had my cataracts done there was 12 diopters between each eye, the brain refused to believe both of them and ignored one, so I lost my depth perception.
Snapped back in within seconds when I had the second eye done

There's prescription swimming pools?

American for dioptre ;)
It's a measurement of optical power for lenses (= the reciprocal of its focal length in metres) A 3 dioptre lens has a focal length of ⅓ metre (333mm)

Perhaps you'd feel differently if you had to squint at them. ;)

And I'm sure all the funds raised go to worthy causes and not 90% admin fees.

"I spent half of it on drink and women and wasted the rest."

"I spent half of it on drink and women and wasted the rest.""
I heard that attributed to George Best: http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quo...

Well, when I get the chance, I'm going to use it.

You know this bloke?

Most of the Fell farmers I know are from the southern and central fells. (It's just an artifact of geography :-)
As for me I'm fine, just had a weekend away, leaving the desktop chained to the desk and my phone (such as it is) switched off the entire time :-)
