Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Deep fried and lightly salted, Jim.

Sheesh.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments So what animal is this one based on?

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments So its scottish cuisine then?

message 3064: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21813 comments Yes we say 'Scottish cuisine' for the same reason they say 'the Scottish play'

message 3065: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments It's a sort of fish.

I'll let Jim elaborate.

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments Jim wrote: "Yes we say 'Scottish cuisine' for the same reason they say 'the Scottish play'"

It's bad luck if it's on the menu :)

A sort of fish? Hmm, Starfish?

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments Oh I know sea urchin. They're supposed to be quite tasty

message 3068: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Not sea urchin.

Let's call them 'bookfish'

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments What really tops that picture off is the drop of mucus coming out of its mouth!

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Glad I have already eaten...

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments Not blobfish fricasse I trust

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Doesn't sound at all appealing.

message 3074: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments No. Not blob fish. But gravy wouldn't be necessary, would it?

message 3075: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Actually that looks just like doing guided reading with my five year olds.

Except there's no finger exploring it.

message 3076: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21813 comments Actually I think that clicking https://www.facebook.com/jim.webster.... will solve your problem

message 3077: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8051 comments Patti got there first but I was going to say it looked more like a blob of snot on the blob fish. Nice going on the blog post Jim. I thought it was a good one. :-)

Cheers

MTM

Jim | 21813 comments Quietly chuffed
Met up with some mates, just idly chatting, one asked when the next Tsarina book was out, so I said I hoped it was February.
He said, 'Good, I liked the other one, it was a good read.'

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Thats glowing praise Jim!

message 3082: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8051 comments It was a good read. I enjoyed it. I still like anything with Benor in it better though. :-)

Cheers

message 3095: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21813 comments Wasn't it Oscar Wilde who said that everything I like is illegal, immoral or fattening?

message 3096: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments If it wasn't it should have been.

message 3097: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21813 comments There's the tale told about how he boarded a train, turned, gave his well wishers a couple of well chosen bon mots, and the train departed.
Only to be stopped and back into the station again because of some minor problem.
Oscar Wilde quietly hid, because as he explained, "I've given them the spontaneous wit that they came for" (or words to that effect) :-)
