Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments I made rhubarb soup once in a fit of gourmet impetuosity. It was not a success.

Oh yes it is. The combination of rhubarb with savoury was the crucial error - foolish one might say

Jim | 21813 comments Stewed rhubarb and rice pudding is a culinary delight I remember from my childhood

Jim | 21813 comments Just to mention that my four Fantasy books are at the moment at knock down prices on Amazon. Don't ask me why, nothing to do with me.

Swords for a Dead Lady by Jim Webster is only £2.99
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Swords-Dead-L...

Some of the others are cheaper. I've given details at https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Katie Stewart (katiewstewart) | 817 comments A fine looking vessel, Jim. But I'll pass, thanks. Don't like the water.

message 2060: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21813 comments Not a big fan of water either I'm afraid

By awesome stars and winds of fate
that howl across the roiling deep
I like to drink my cognac straight
I find it helps me get to sleep

message 2061: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments I shall take that advice onboard.

Clearly, drinking cognac curved has been my downfall

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments and the curly merlot doesn't help

message 2063: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments Merlot always helps.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Oh, you know speaking of cypress trees, they're really something quite magical. All the other trees and bushes on a hillside can be bent almost perpendicular from the wind but there's the good old cypress trees standing straight and tall.

They'd make really good masts for sailing ships, I reckon.
