I'm sorry to hear about Melody. The passing of someone you knew is always difficult, whether you were close or not. My thoughts and prayers are with the girl's family.
On a happier note, congrats on getting into the school! I think it's wonderful, and you will flourish there!

I feel terrible for her family, but I suppose they knew it was coming, so that might've made it a tiny bit easier. Not enough to change how much it would hurt, but enough to make sure Melody got to do a lot of the things she wanted to do and to say goodbye.

Lastly, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. I can fully understand how numb you must feel.

Congrats on getting into the Creative Arts school, Tink! It sounds like tons of fun!Sorry to hear about Melody and her passing away. It must be very hard to lose someone to cancer, especially when their so young.

For those who care:
I went to Melody's memorial service tonight. It was... excruciating. Between everyone from school (including me) sobbing their eyes out, and the heartwrenching eulogy and memories from her family, I'm exhausted. I feel closer to my friends, but it's still hard to accept.

I fully understand what you are going through. When my Mother-in-law (who was also my very best friend) passed away last November, I cried for a solid month. It amazed me that I could have that much salt-water inside me.
Not sure why some "passings" touch us more than others. However, the loss of someone so young is very hard indeed.
May your summer be filled with many magical and joyous moments. And may the fond memories of your friend brighten your future days :]

Hey everyone... sorry I haven't been on in awhile. I'm still writing and thinking about you guys, but I've just had a lot on my plate.I think this has been the hardest week of my life. I had to take my two hardest finals, I've had to say goodbye to all my wonderful teachers and close friends because I'm switching schools, and I had to go to the Memorial Service of my friend and classmate who recently passed away. Not to mention the fact that I just reached that milestone that all girls eventually hit... that thing at the end of a sentence unfortunately decided to make it's appearance this week... yipee. Not. That pretty much sucks. :( :( :(
So all in all, I'm pretty miserable. Thank God I have you guys to keep me sane. :/
Paige and Dee: Thanks tons for the warm wishes... feeling better after a lot of thinking and talking and just keeping on... keeping on.

Yes, today's been a pretty good day. Just relaxing at home. I keep reminding myself that,"10% of life is what you make it, 90% of life is what crap gets thrown at you."
LOL. So, I'm determined to have a better week... no matter what... and then next week I get to go to summer camp. It'll either be really fun or totally suck... IDK which yet.... :)
