Having not been familiar with the author's earlier works, and having been burned by the offerings of other indy authors of this genre, I was tempted never to read another sci-fi indy novel for as long as I lived! Thankfully, this was different. It's a difficult book to pigeonhole - not quite a pure sci-fi story, not quite a dedicated horror story. However, it blends this divide beautifully, skilfully weaving between the two genres to produce an intriguing, fast paced tale, which I found to be quite entertaining. Not a bad way to pass a few hours on a wet weekend with a dodgy broadband signal, and it has gone a long way to restoring my faith in indy sci-fi writers!"
