Hey Steve, I'm on Amazon too (and lulu.com), was wondering how you make your book free for the day?

Hi David, The free days are with kindle and you'd have to be enrolled in their "kdp select" program that offers 5 free days out of every 90 and offers it to loan for members with Amazon Prime. You'd also need to be exclusively selling with amazon during the period under contract with them.

lulu.com will also publish out to the iBookstore and Barnes and Nobles nook.com - so they do some work for you. Although they're sticklers about some of the formatting and I've had to take a few passes at it before it has been accepted.

Can someone tell me how to go about making a book free on Kindle for a limited time? thanks..
You have to sign up for the Kindle Direct Publishing Select program and look in your Bookshelf, then tick the box next to your book title. Go to Actions and follow Manage Promotions. It is all explained in there.The advice is, select the 5 day promotion then 2 days into it, cancel it and some of the people will still think it is free and actually pay the price. (Sneaky, but that was the advice on a book promotion expert's site). Then do the same a few weeks later. Good luck!
