I finished this book a few weeks ago and I still think about it, it's really stuck with me.
The main character is complex and intriguing although I also found I could relate to her. As a thriller, it kept me guessing to the end. I did not expect the ending!

Shadows of Light: The Darkness WithinIt is common in the work place when someone suffers the lost of a family member to take up a collection among the employees. The story I am about to relate it a remarkable story of the people I work with. One of our co-worker’s husbands had died of cancer on Tuesday June 3rd 2014. They had been struggling with his illness for some time. The Tom had gone into remission but was left unable to continue to drive truck so his wife took on a seasonal job with my company. When she came back for the spring we learned that Tom’s PSA levels showed that he was out remission.
His cancer progress rapidly and was in and out of the hospital. At times my co-worker did not even away to get to the hospital to be with him. She was forced to move from her rental home in a small town in South Dakota to an apartment for the disabled closer to the hospital. She could not afford the deposit so she was paying it off slowly. Tom went back into the hospital over the weekend where his condition worsened. Early on Tuesday morning Lela found herself as a widow, Tom had no insurance, her car is in need of serious repair, and she is over a thousand miles away from friends and her family in Houston.
Her co-workers are rallying behind her we have set up a fund in her name at gofundme.com. I have to say I work with some amazing people. We are a virtual call center which means we all work from home around the country. We have rallied around our co-work and have been able to raise just short of over 500.00 on her behalf that is one tenth of our goal. The amazing parts of this none of have met face to face. Yet there has been an out pouring of love in both big and little donations. We still need your help please donate even if all you can afford is a dollar.
