Jill H. (bucs1960) You've almost got it Cyndi. You don't need the link if the book cover is available...and don't forget the author's photo (if available) and author's link. It should look like this:

Mark Mortensen Welcome, George. Glad you could join us.

Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you comment. (There is a link on the top right of the reply box.) It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the Goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them. When citing a book and/or author, please put the book cover, author's photo and author's link at the very bottom of the post after your text. Because it is on the bottom, it calls the reader's attention to the book/author and increases the readability of your posts.

This is how the books you've mentioned should look:

MacArthur's Jungle War The 1944 New Guinea Campaign by Stephen, R. Taaffe by Stephen, R. Taaffe

Take a few moments to read the orientation:

Jensen | 3 comments I'm officially introducing myself after drooling over your books, threads, and all around wonderful group: I'm Jensen, an avid reader originally from New Jersey now a Rhode Islander. Aside from my ravenous appetite for books I have a passion for horses, mine is Ben, and let's not forget my dog, Mackenzie. Horses and books are both air to me, necessary for my survival. I read a huge range of genres but history has always been a favorite. When I was 8 I decided I needed more books than the school had to offer so I made my mom get a library card in order for me to check-out books from the public library, I think that says it all. I can't wait to get involved with the group!

Cloé | 2 comments Hello, my name is Cloé I am from North London, England and I have just completed my undergraduate history degree, so I thought this group was pretty appropriate for me! I would say I specialise in European history from the 1800's upwards, the Victorian period and WW2 being my favourite subjects. However, now I have completed my degree I would like to explore earlier history.

Most of the major sites are in North London. Did you go to school in London proper; if so - that must have been an exciting place to live and to study.

Hope you find many interesting topics here.

Hello Josh and welcome to the History Book Club. Thank you for trying to do the citations; you seem to have the book cover down.

Just remember that you have to add three parts: book cover when available and if not available the book title instead, then the author's photo if available and always the author's link which is the author's name in linkable text.
