ARCHIVE ONE: PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF ~

As you get started please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you comment. It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them. This is how books you mention should look:

Hello Anna, Clint, Ted, Thomas and Turtle Island, welcome to the group.
Apart from all the fascinating discussions on history we also have quite a few nice threads on music.
Come and take a look/listen if you like - and Island girl - I'm sure your turtles will find some melodies there to rock their socks!
Best,
André

My day job is working with a collegiate ministry at The Ohio State University. I enjoy choral singing with a community choir, gardening and work around my home, summer evenings at a baseball park, and good conversation over a good brew, hot or cold!

I don't know how or if you can post a tutorial. Hmmm, good question. If you do figure it out, send me a PM and maybe we can incorporate it somewhere on one of our threads - mechanics of the board perhaps.
Glad to have you with us.

Stephen,
Thank you and the way you have your citations in 4306 is perfect, but I did not see them before.
Let me know what you have in mind about this video. There are a number of variations and different scenarios that we would like to explore.
Alisa contacted me about this and I have given her some details to get you started. But I would have to approve the final product before it is posted here.
Thanks for the offer and thanks to Alisa for helping be the intermediary.

Very good Stephen and a brilliant idea. I will take a look at your rough draft and you should hear from Alisa soon I suspect.

Sometimes it's cheaper and easier to get a book in Spanish here even though it was originally published in English. For example, I read 1491 by Charles C. Mann, an outstanding book, but in translation.

History of all sorts is tremendously popular here in Spain, so there's always a lot being published.

When you mention authors, you should also add their photos, if available, and their links. For example, Larry McMurtry should be shown as

It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the Goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them. When citing a book and/or author, please put the book cover, author's photo and author's link after all of the text of your post at the bottom of the post itself.
Placement at the bottom of the post calls the reader's attention to the book itself and/or author and increases the readability of your posts.
Here's how one of the books we are discussing now would look:

I enjoyed history at school and wished to study history at university however it didn’t happen.
I joined this group because it seemed good place where to find suggestions for further reading.
