Glad to make your acquanitance!

As you get started please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you comment. It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them. This is how books Joe mentioned should look:
Henry Brooks Adams (no cover) by Frederic P. Miller

That first one is unusual in that it has no cover image so I used the link and noted no cover in parens. Joe tell me if I got that right.

Thanks and glad you joined us.

Hi Jill, David, Joe, Leanne, welcome to the group.
In case anyone of you is also interested in music (besides the obvious interest in history), we have quite a few threads on the different genres with many great clips and discussions. Come take a look/listen if you like.
Enjoy.
André

I have a Master's degree in Modern European History, so I also have read and like to read a LOT of history books!
I also enjoy reading biographies, autobiographies, current events, other types of fiction, pretty much anything.

I am Zeljka, 30-years old booklover from Croatia. This bookclub combines my two favorite topics - books and history. I enjoy reading non-fiction as much as historical fiction, but love also science-fiction and fantasy. My third favorite topic is travel, but that I would leave for another GR group ;-)

Hi Diana and Zeljka, welcome to the group!

PS, Diana, please say hi to Chico and Frida.
You will find there are many animal lovers among our members and I'm sure I'm speaking for quite a few when I wish the three of you a happy weekend too.

The next time I'll ask Woopy and BeBe to send over some greetings too.
Right now they're very busy practicing a Verdi aria.
With them being rabbits I must say I have my problems finding out their progress, though...

FOr the sake of the neighbors I sure hope they passed this stage:

The unforgettable Florence Foster Jenkins
In case you're wondering - this is no joke. RCA even has her CD out...
I sometimes wonder if maybe her trying to achieve some/any kind of harmony or rhythm (both at the same time seems too much to ask...) would be a good try for therapy sessions - I mean, after hearing this just about everyone will realize we've got to keep trying - or, what do you say?
