We are discussing his autobiography so that is the only reason for the avatar being him.

message 3404: by Joe (new)

Joe Waves hello to the Group Members .. Joe here, Arkansas , OC history buff , Full library of just about everything historical . I let my books carve my reading path ,, recently finished up Henry Brooks Adams and am ensconced in the Bloomsbury Group.

Glad to make your acquanitance!

message 3405: by Alisa (new)

Alisa (mstaz) Hello Joe and Comicfairy/Leanne! Glad you both found us and decided to join.

As you get started please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you comment. It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them. This is how books Joe mentioned should look:

Henry Brooks Adams (no cover) by Frederic P. Miller
The Bloomsbury Group (Spoken Word) by British Library by British Library

That first one is unusual in that it has no cover image so I used the link and noted no cover in parens. Joe tell me if I got that right.

The next time I'll ask Woopy and BeBe to send over some greetings too.
Right now they're very busy practicing a Verdi aria.
With them being rabbits I must say I have my problems finding out their progress, though...

FOr the sake of the neighbors I sure hope they passed this stage:

The unforgettable Florence Foster Jenkins
In case you're wondering - this is no joke. RCA even has her CD out...

I sometimes wonder if maybe her trying to achieve some/any kind of harmony or rhythm (both at the same time seems too much to ask...) would be a good try for therapy sessions - I mean, after hearing this just about everyone will realize we've got to keep trying - or, what do you say?

Thom Swennes (Yorrick) | 12 comments Hello…. My name is Thom Swennes and although I have been an active member of Goodreads for a long time, I have just joined this group. I am an expatriated American, living in Europe. I’ve lived here for the last forty years but make a point to return Stateside to keep track of friends and family. I have studied history and consider it one of my many passions. Reading (in general) is a passion and I don’t necessarily just read history. My reading interests are as many and varied as the colors of a color wheel. In addition to reading I also enjoy putting pen to paper (or in this day finger to key) and writing works of my own. I am looking forward to being an active and valued member of this group.
