Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 3595 comments When I was a kid, I asked for walkie talkies (so my next door neighbor and I could talk after lights out). Tin cans and a string would have worked better. Maybe they were sabotaged by my parents.

Susan | 6406 comments I have always thought walkie talkies were the coolest things. I always wanted them.

Now this thread is fucked up. Why are so many threads fucked up? Who is deleting posts?

message 54: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Is that what is happening?

message 55: by Scout (new)

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 3595 comments Well, walkie talkies are kind of like phones.

message 56: by Aliyah (new)

Aliyah | 369 comments 1)I just sit and watch re-runs of old tv series that I watched already.
2)I read magazines
3) Read random stuff on the internet
4) Play video games

Sundays are perfect days for dull days.

message 57: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I hate when people stand in the check-out line and talk on those Nextel talkie devices. Hate it.

message 58: by Aliyah (new)

Aliyah | 369 comments Why?

message 59: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments I don't like that, either. There is something about that beep then talking that grates my nerves.

I want real walkies talkies and to talk on them while camping or when I was 10.

message 61: by evie (new)

evie (ecie) | 4441 comments I talk about the weather to work colleagues in the elevator.

Well, at least you don't talk about the weather in the elevator to work colleagues. That would really be dull.

Or, dare I say, talk work in the elevator with weather colleagues.

message 64: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments How about talking about work colleagues and the weather to the elevator?

message 65: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Good time to work on your elevator speech. You know . . . in the elevator.

Good place to wear elevator shoes.

message 67: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments I just dance to the Muzak.

message 68: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Rock & Roll Muzak.

message 69: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments It has a beat and I can dance to it.

Louise Pictures Susan?

Sorting my beads
Alphabetizing my books
Cleaning my closet
Organizing just about anything...especially my craft room
Baking
Slowly shopping in Office Depot, looking at all the pens and organizers and stuff.
Riding in the car while someone else drives, but doesn't talk to me. I just like to ride, listen to the road and make up stories in my head.

I may have high functioning autism...

message 72: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments We are frighteningly the same, Amelia.

There might be pictures...oh, no. Just the ones from when I got inside the lifesize, roped off gingerbread house made of real candy at that one hotel.

message 73: by [deleted user] (new)

Did you lick it?

(You're welcome, Phil)

message 74: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments No but I had a giant lifesaver in my purse the next day so apparently, I thought I might later.

message 75: by [deleted user] (new)

Ah, you stole part of it! You rebel.

message 76: by L.F. (new)

L.F. Falconer | 48 comments I sit on my front porch for fun. Sometimes a car drives by. That adds a little excitement. I am also a rebel without a clue for I have no cell phone. But I do have a pair of walkie talkies.

message 77: by [deleted user] (new)

Walkie talkies are much more fun...provided someone else has one of them.

message 78: by L.F. (new)

L.F. Falconer | 48 comments Amelia wrote: "Walkie talkies are much more fun...provided someone else has one of them."

You're probably right. But sitting with one in my right hand and and one in my left, talking to myself can be quite interesting. ;)

message 79: by Louise (new)

Louise Don't they make a static noise if they're too close when turned on?

message 80: by [deleted user] (new)

So, Sunday I saw this dude in his convertible chatting away on his "cell"...it was this giant thing, like the old metal rotary dial phone my gran used to have with two great round nobs on each end, and covered in this blue rubberized stuff like I've seen on dumbells.

*Confused*

message 81: by [deleted user] (new)

This! Only, darker, more royal blue.

Why?

Some people just like being nerdy.

message 84: by L.F. (new)

L.F. Falconer | 48 comments If I ever get a cell phone, I need that accessory ;) I'd feel much more comfortable.

You're supposed to turn them on?

You could try a sexy little dance move.

evie (ecie) | 4441 comments Phil, you are a treasure!

message 88: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments i bought my son one of those phones. made by koshi i think. i did it because he is fun and he had a blast getting a phone call and taking this thing out of his backpack at a coffee shop and talking. he would walk down the street talking on this. it is a novelty but he had great fun for a minute with it. i buy my kids a fun goofy gift like this at christmas every year. but in all seriousness, my son wears hearing aids and this phone actually is easier to talk on for him than putting a flat cell phone covering his whole ear and feeding back. anyway, this was a fun little fad phone that came from japan where all new trends start

For the hearing aid benefit, I can buy that...

But, like the Hello Kitty backpack, I will personally leave it to the 12 year old Japanese girls. :)

message 91: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments i didn't buy it for the hearing aid benefit, but rather for the fun factor. and it was fun for a minute and he enjoyed it.
