Ginny (overthebridge) | 338 comments What pointe shoes do you wear? I wear Grishko 2007s!

I wear Bloch Balance Europeans! :D They're kind of . . . fat-looking? XD I'm hoping to get my next pair of pointes Grishkos. :]

Ginny (overthebridge) | 338 comments Grishkos are awesome and a bit easier to break in. I've worn 2007s and Ulanavah I and IIs from them. My favorite is definitely the 2007.

I've heard Grishkos don't last long. Is that true? {{And I heard this directly from the Grishko website, that their usual length of life is only eight hours of dance! :O}}

message 6: by Ginny (new)

Ginny (overthebridge) | 338 comments That's not necessarily true. I'm only on my third pair of Grishkos after over four years of pointe. But my friend who wears Chacott has had the same pair for all four years without wearing them out. So generally Grishkos wear out faster, but not that fast- I think that statistic probably applies more to a prima ballerina.

I suppose so. :] My Balance Europeans are so nice, they mold to your feet very well, but they get SO torn up and ugly! XP

So, anyone else want to be a professional pointe dancer more than anything? XD {{As in, more than-per say-a Rockette, being on Broadway, etc. etc. etc.}}

message 9: by Ginny (new)

Ginny (overthebridge) | 338 comments I really enjoy pointe dancing and will use it as part of my resume and possibly for auditions, but I'd prefer to be on Broadway. However, ballet can come very handy in some Broadway shows where characters are ballet dancers!

Cool! More than anything, I wish to be in New York, dancing on the stage. :]

Yep! I really, REALLY, hope that one day I'll be professional, but chances are slim for a dance career. So, I'll be content being a dance teacher. ;]

message 13: by Ginny (new)

Ginny (overthebridge) | 338 comments That is unfortunately true.
