Me too! And you're reading what I'm reading, so it's even more exciting!

My name is Agata, I'm 36 years old, and I live in Hilden, Germany. I recently gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, so I have some time for reading between nursing and changing diapers ;-).
I like to read almost everything, as long as it asks interesting questions, and is well written.
I very much like this groups basic idea, to read by theme. This way I can choose something from my shelves with a nice guideline. Looking forward to reading and discussing with everybody here.

By the way, what is the theme this month?

I'm in central California, and I saw the Lion King in Sacramento. :o) I was overcome with emotion when I saw the Phantom on Broadway...cried right after sitting down BEFORE the musical began! LOL

I know some of the music.. it sounds very emotional! Mamma Mia and Hairspray are probably my favorite shows.

I want to get into autobiographies more. but so many bore me. :o(

Hi Vicki, what part of the world are you in? I'm was born and raised in JHB and continue to enjoy the City of Gold. Try a few easy biographies like celebrity bios are quite fun to get through and then tackle the serious ones.

(Oh dear, I'm never good with the introduction thing... um...) I'm a housewife living in Austria (moved there from Canada), which is a lot more boring than it sounds. I've somewhat recently rediscovered my love of reading, and am hoping to keep up the habit this time!
I've never done the book club thing before either, so this group with its broader scope for potential reads called out to me.
Did I miss anything?

[And your introduction was perfectly adequate. ;)]

I'm Cindy, I live in small-town Indiana and I just turned 41 (gasp!). I love the concept behind this book group. I work in a library and since I am constantly surround..."

Anne, what you wrote is really quite profound, at least as it applies to my own experience. Basically, I've come to the same conclusion: If I can't get into a book, I'm not "obligated" to anyone other than myself to finish it, and, therefore, I don't/won't. Life's too short and my book list is waaaaay too long to read something - anything! - that I can't enjoy in the first 50 pages. But then there are certain books that you revisit later - maybe months, maybe years - and thoroughly enjoy. It really all comes down to where one's "head is at" when they turn the first page, doesn't it?

Yes I did see Wicked-- another great show!!"
I saw it twice! I absolutely loved it! How about Lion King, Mama Mia, Fiddler on the Roof, Phantom of the Opera, Menopause, and others?

My name is Dyani and I'm from FL. I was pulled into good reads thanks to my girlfriend and now I'm enjoying it. I like to crochet. Mostly toys and lots of bookmarks. So usually I'm digging up new books while making things. My favorite books are usually fantasies like werewolves, vampires, witches, and so forth. My favorite author is Kelley Armstrong. Glad to find a place like this!
