They're cheesy fun, but not as bad as Fluke. I enjoyed the first two so far.

The situation has me imagining a giant orca launching itself at a poor guy.
There weren't any whales in the book, but I didn't know whether to laugh or just wonder if VLT needed some therapy of her own to think that one up.

I'm noticing these books all have the crazy old couple. She must have some interesting old people in her life for them to be a constant go to in this series as secondary supporting characters.
