Noel slips between the bookcases taking Jess with him laughing slightly under his breath as if this was all a game. He places a finger over Jess's lips as if to shush her. "I know. No need to say it like that. He's not a murderer." He looks at her reprovingly then smirked ruining the effect of disapproval. He glances around the shelf as searching for Gunner but seeing no one. "Hidding from me are we." A deep voice issues quietly from behind Noel as he whirls around taking in the sight of Gunner and his rumpled appearance. "Someone slept in their clothes." Noel smirks at Gunner who flexes his jaw which issues a crackling sound into the silent library.

Jess smirked slightly and merely shrugged when he said this. Alright, so if he wasn't a murderer, how the heck was he dangerous? And why was he even basically stalking him just to figure out some answer? She held in a sigh, staring at Gunner, who looked a bit intimidating but not enough for her to feel frightened. She dealt with people like this before, so what was the difference? Not that she was really planning on fighting him or anything, but still.
Noel laughs outloud breaking the tension. "Real intimidating." Gunner shrugs in a bored like fashion. "Whose the woman? Another one of your lady companions?" His voice brimmed with sarcasm and boredom. Noel's eyes narrow on Gunner. "These are not the drones you are looking for." Gunner rolls his eyes. "Wanted to let you know that I found it. No thanks to you. So....bye." Gunner turns around and walks away. Noel's fists clentch at his sides as he watched Gunner's back retreat.
Jess raised her eyebrows when Gunner asked if she was another one of Noel's lady companions. What, so apparently he had a lot? Was she just some game or something? She tried not to show what she was thinking about and feeling, and said once Gunner was gone, "Well. Isn't he just the life of the party." She walked back over to the other bookcase and sighed, pretending to be interested in the rows of books.
Noel still watching Gunner, until Gunner exists the library. He turns to look at Jess and discovers that her emotions seem to be spiking with jealous. It tastes so delicious...and wrong. "Just stay away from him, okay? He's fond of games." Noel cks out a book and heads to a nearby table to leaf through some of the pages.
"Oh, really? Because I was definitely planning to be his best friend," she mumbled sarcastically, rolling her eyes and sighing softly as she went over to the section labeled mystery and looking over the books before pulling one out and opening it, looking through it.
Noel narrows his eyes at her. "This is a serious matter. You shouldn't be so flippant about it." He shuts the book with a decided snap and checks it out at the self serve computer scanners before returning back to Jess's side. "I'm serious Jess. Gunner's not a nice guy even for human standards."
"I get it, okay?" Jess muttered, not looking up from her book. She wasn't exactly going to go chat with Gunner any time soon, but he seemed a bit overprotective. Didn't he know she could handle herself? She frowned slightly.
Noel murmurs something intelligentable watching her face closely trying to decipher the feelings that she flickers through so rapidly. It was enough to make anyone's head spin, but some how she seems composed and normal. It has to be a human thing, to be so composed while feeling so much.
Jess was still, feeling his eyes on her, which for some reason made her feel a bit uncomfortable. So much that she had to read the same paragraph several times, and still wasn't fully understanding it. Sighing, she closed the book and finally looked at him. "What?" she asked, an edge of annoyance in her tone. She had no idea what he said, and wasn't sure she wanted to.
"Nothing." He says a little too quickly as he rakes a hand through his already messy waves. "I just..." He searches internally for the right words. "don't want you to get hurt unnecessarily, is all. I feel strongly for you, Jessica." It is the first time that he says her real full name and he leans against the bookcase with ease. His forehead is smooth and clear of any wrinkles, as if he was not worried that she would go against him and speak to Gunner.
Jess stared at him as he said this, then sighed softly and crossed her arms. Nobody got hurt unnecessarily in her opinion. She pushed away the side of her that wanted to feel happy that he worried about her, and instead she responded, "You shouldn't worry about me that much." I'm not worth it, she silently added. Even though it seemed to her that he wasn't really worried at all. Heck, maybe he just said that to all the girls he apparently hung out with.
Noel smirks lightly at her comment, "And why shouldn't I? Give me one good reason why I should not worry about you." His eyes study her face, silently challenging her to come up with something to set himself free of her, but his personal feelings were that she would not find something solid to get him to stop worrying about her. He feels too young for her and I few worry lines would make him feel older and worrying has not killed anyone yet, but since he does not breathe that is not a problem for him either.
Jess didn't respond for a minute, a little surprised that he didn't know why he didn't really have a reason to worry about her. "Because, although it's obvious you haven't noticed, I can handle myself," she replied simply, staring at him. She didn't like how people—those who didn't know what she was, or even did—always looked at her like she was weak. She thought this was how he was looking at her.
Noel blinks. Hurt flashes quickly across his features before resuming its default mode: a slight smirk. He felt hurt....wounded...he had never cared for someone before and having his love get smacked right back in his face feels like hell. Like it isn't worth s#$t. His eyes loose their warmth as coldness like shadows slide across his features making that carefree nature just a shadow like it was just a disguise that he is now shedding. He claps softly at first then louder. "Bravo my dear because frankly I don't give a damn." With that he raises his hand as the shadows swirl around him eveloping him completly before he disappeared into nothingness. Then faintly very faintly his last words reach her, "I cannot believe I actually love her."
Jess stared at him, gaping a little as he left. She didn't really mean to make it sound the way it came out, but that was always the way she lost people, why they always abandoned her. It was her fault she could never connect with anybody. Her fault that she always pushed them away. It always ended this way. She stared at the ground forlornly, the sadness that she never showed burning a hole in her, as well as the guilt that she hurt him. Shoving the book back in the bookshelf, she shook her head, mostly at herself. Okay, so he was angry. A part of her wanted to believe that he would probably get over it. But, still... She felt certain that he might have loved her for some reason, but now she knew for certain that he didn't love her anymore.
(Hmmmm.....So wrong. He said "love her" still in present tense. They should meet up later.)Gunner still in the library runs his figers across the tombs in the matial arts section trying t find a book he has not read yet....or moves that he did not yet possess.
((Yeah, I know, and she secretly loves him, but she doesn't think it's possible for anyone to actually love her, which is why she doesn't really believe it. Now she feels really guilty, though, since she didn't mean to necessarily hurt his feelings. But they should meet up later.))
(Yes, they should! They will be epic! LOl. We need more full time rpers. It seems like we have limited people to rp with here. So, my characters are not getting a lot of action. I have like 4 or more characters doing nothing. lol.)
((Yes! Lol, oh, really? One of my charries are a bit lonely as well. Meet up with my charrie Shane or something?))
((Sure!))Shane walked into the library, out of both boredom and because he was looking for a specific spell book.
Sighing and not particularly wanting to have a conversation with that guy he saw briefly from the corner of his eye, he continued walking to the certain row of books and looked through them. Supposedly this book was hard to find.
Destiny glides through the shelves humming softly as she restocks all the shelves helping the elderly librarian so she could sit and rest instead of walking around. She smiles at Gunner as she passes and he ignores her. She enters the same isle as Shane returning a rare book to its rightful place.
Shane looked over as someone else came into the isle. Well, she definitely appeared friendlier than the other guy. And... Was that the book he was looking for? He stared a minute, and didn't take any time to pull out the book that she had just placed back in the shelf. He opened it and looked through it.
"Anything interesting?" She asks as she watches him practically devour the book in question. She moves past him and places another book in an empty space working to get rid of the five books stacked in her hands. She moves closer to him putting another book away, before moving away from him down the isle. Still close, but not by mere inches, more like feet now.
Shane briefly tore his eyes away from the book to look at the girl once again. Guessing she worked there, he found it interesting she would ask him this. Well, of course it was interesting. He'd been looking for it for quite some time now, actually. "Uhm. Yes," he replied hesitantly, glancing down at the books in her hand.
She nods to herself smiling a bit wondering what he found interesting about the book. Every book she touched she knew in an instant. She wonders what it is like to truely read and enjoy a book for the first time or really any time. She slips another book into its slot and realizes that the rest of these books go in the next isle. She turns back towards Shane and passes him. She wonders where he will read the book and if he would be found here into the wee hours of the morning reading. She smiles to herself again, not wanting to disturb him.
Shane closed the book a moment as he watched as she passed by him, before walking to the table where a few people were sitting at, losing themselves in the many stories. He sat in the seat farthest away from everyone, and set the book on the table. As he leaned on his elbows, he let out a small string of air under his breath, and the book slowly opened by itself where he left off, by magic. His eyes scanned across the words.
Gunner looks up, grunts, and continues to read. Destiny unburdened herself from her books and wanders around the library touching books and absorbing information like a sponge keeping an open mind to all of the details. For the longest time, she thought there was only humans, but now she knew better. There were other species and they needed her help in order to escape the pits of hell into the immortal light.
Shane barely glanced up from his book as he heard movement somewhere to the left, farther away than from where he was sitting. Shrugging it off, he looked back down at his book and continued reading.
