What would happen (do you think) if Ron died? How would this affect the story? How would you feel if he died? The shock I had when J.K Rowling wanted to kill off Ron, was it shared by HP fanatics?

I would not have read the rest of the series. Ron is just to important of a character to be killed off.
I don't understand how people can say Ron was weak...Ron won the chess match!! He contributed a lot, even in what appeared to be insignicant ways....He may not have been as smart as Hermione, but his character was equally important. We all need friends like Ron, who even when we appear to be great, is there to remind us of our humaness. I cried when Dumbledore died, but if Rom had died, then evil would have won, and that is not the message that we want our young children to walk away with.
Oh and poor Hermione they were in love what could come of his death!!!!! She would
be a loner without him and probably never get married because she would be mourning him to much.

I wouldn't WANT Ron to die, but at the same time, the final books are so dark, I kind of expected one of the main characters (heroes) to die. If Ron had died, it would have been heartbreaking. I cried like a baby with so many of the other losses in the final books. Would MORE tears make the series that much more memorable and valuable to its audience????? Admit it, we love a good tragedy. Come one. A good dying love scene between Ron and Hermoine would have been GOLDEN....
I actually believed he was going to be killed off so I had prepared myself for it which might change my view on this very good question. I believe if he had died I might have felt differently at the end but I still would have loved the books, so my reaction might only have differed in that it would have been a sadder, more solemn ending where the ending you got left you with a warmer feeling, and one of hope, which really is how it needed to end.
If that happened then I wouldn't be such a fan of Harry Potter I know Ron is weak but he is a weasly and one dies already and if two dies then it would be a horrible series
I would've been furious. As it was, I was already screaming 'murderer' when she killed Snape.
Ron was one of the most "human" characters of the books. It would've been terrible if he had been killed off. Not to forget to predictable.
Hmmm, the book wouldn't be the same without him if she followed through with her plan.
I would have taken the whole series, thrown them in the fire and laughed while they burned. JK.
I would have cried.
I would have cried.
i would feel bad for his family, but then hermione and harry could end up with harry!!
i am not a great fan of ron.. i like all of his brothers better.. seriously wouldnt have been sad if ron died and hermoine gets married to harry
WTF???????? I WILL KILL YOU J.K. ROWLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That would be my reaction. I love Ron, and since Fred died, it would be even more horrible.

imagine though, if he was edad, jkr would have to replace him with another main character. Who would it be...
I would have cried he is so awesome and funny and well I could go on and on but the point is I would have been sad and then mad and may have had to call J K Rowling about the problem she just created and how she has ripped a part of my heart out thank you very much
He was going to die half-way through the series but they switched him with Fred.
Imho every death in the finale was hard for me. /:
The deaths of Sirius and Dumbledore felt hard too.
Well, I would feel sorry for Hermione.

Ron was probably one of my favorite characters. If he had died, it feel like the whole idea of him overcoming his pride would have been lost, even if his death would have been after the fact. He is probably one of the most relatable characters with his weaknesses and the positive side of the end, how he came back and resolved his issues, showing it's possible to swallow your pride and not lose your friends. If he died, things would be too different and I don't think it would have been as great a book if it happened.
Even though Ron is definitely not one of the most likeable characters, he would have been missed nevertheless. There would be no more trio; it would just be Harry and Hermione. It just wouldn't be the same.
Ron was a weak character but he acts tough. He is best friends with Harry. I didn't like Ron that much. I didn't like Ron 1-6 I don't know why. But, if she would've killed him I'd feel sorrry for his family.
Ron was easily one of the weakest characters, his role was the best friend and he betrayed that so often due to petty jealousy, honestly, i would have rather ron die than sirius or lupin
My reaction? Suicide.
I'm joking. But yeah, it would be awful.

i'd be happy he's petty the author wanted to kill him off to
