If you're going into expecting all happy happy pack relations like you get in tonnes of pnr, then you'll be surprised. However, if you're going in expecting an author unafraid of putting her own stamp on pack relations, which are slightly less ethical (not sure if more realistic, because of the whole mating milarky wolves have going on) then you'll be impressed. There is a definitive hierarchy in the books, and it's not all sweetness and roses. And it's far from romantic. I think I enjoyed it BECAUSE it was different. :o)
