Aliraluna Thats really weird. It has never happened until I heard it from you! I say if you have further problems ask amazon just in case :-)

Mirvan. Ereon (mirvanereon) | 30 comments Weird... And Amazon is always weird! I cannot even have books sent to my location in the Philippines even if there is an international shipping option. NEEEVEEER

Dee (austhokie) | 370 comments Kim - is it a book that hasn't been released yet? so it will officially come out on the 31st?

Kim wrote: "Yes Mirvan..I too think Amazon a bit weird. It would make so much sense to me if there was one central "hub" where we could buy books. So how do you receive your books then?"

You can't have that because of licensing rights. Most authors sell their rights to the US and UK. Some branch out further and license them in multiple countries, others will give one company world-wide rights to make their books available everywhere. Others simply stick with the US and/or the UK.

Sounds like you preordered a book and you'll get it sent to your Kindle on release day.

Dee (austhokie) | 370 comments Kim - what list are you talking about? i'm confused...

message 7: by stormhawk (new)

stormhawk | 542 comments Amazon does let you preorder books that will be delivered automatically on the publication date. It's actually a little exciting!

Sometimes there is enough time between order and delivery that I almost forget that I preordered, and then there it is, just like an unexpected present.

Dee (austhokie) | 370 comments gotcha...pre-order will sometimes show on those lists...what is the title of the book - I can look on amazon.com and see if its pre-order - but from what you are describing that is what it sounds like

Andrew Lawston (andrewlawston) | 72 comments I'm sorry, I'm probably being very dense. I live in the UK and order a lot of paperbacks and DVDs from amazon.fr - can I not order French ebooks to my Kindle?

Dee (austhokie) | 370 comments according to Amazon it says currently available for pre-order and will be released on May 31

Dee (austhokie) | 370 comments my french isn't that good, but in the green book on the right side it says "Ce titre sera envoyé directement sur votre Kindle le 31 mai 2012"

having had a kindle for a while I know roughly what it says - but even if I didn't, 31 mai 2012 is 31 may ;)

Khouloud Khammassi (khouloud_khammassi) | 5 comments I publish best-sellers from Tunisian in French on Kindle. This is how I indeed started started my electronic publishing house ( which I called "Dar Barca"). I am originally Tunisian, but currently residing in the US. I upload the books on Amazon.com and the sales are on Amazon.com and .fr and .es. My understanding is that there has to be a conversion or migration of accounts between fields. Most users didn't complain much--if at all--as it's done only once. Long story short, it's totally possible to go between the fields and get one's lovely/favorite books.

Check Amazon.fr and had Chrome translate it. It says "Coming soon - order it today! This item will be released May 31, 2012."
