YouKneeK I only have one Kindle device, but it’s the third one I’ve owned. I had purchased the very first generation Kindle back when it came out. I was already reading e-books before then, on an old Palm Zire PDA. That was kind of like reading books on a smartphone today – small screen, and difficult to read in sunlight. The Kindle made ebooks so much better!

When the Kindle Keyboard came out (I think that was the 3rd generation), I upgraded to that and gave away my original Kindle.

Then I upgraded again when the 2nd generation Paperwhite was released. That’s what I have now. Since I don’t have any need for more than one e-reader, I like to give my older devices away to people who I know will benefit from them but can’t necessarily afford one. It beats having them sit on a shelf gathering dust and benefitting no one.

I also have the Kindle App installed on my work-issued smartphone. I don’t have any sort of tablet (Fire, Ipad, or otherwise) though. It isn’t something I personally have seen any use for.
