I don't see her being the sexy, prissy, horny vixen Cersei is. As I said already, I may be saying this because I'm a BSG addict but Tricia Helfer would do a better job IMO, I mean she's a natural blonde or dirty blonde. But hey as long as its in the making go for it

Love Tamzin Merchant as Dany, love Sean Bean as Ned, love Tyrion's actor (can't remember his name atm), like Robe..."Allen wrote: "So it looks like HBO will see a [rough:] pilot by the end of the month hopefully(and with any luck perhaps us pyrates). I disagree. As much as I loved Tricia Helfer in BSG. She did an absolutely superb job. I think Leana Heady is a better choice. She is a more experienced actress for a role like this.

Not to mention the Westerosi are going to be British in correlation, and Headly is one.
So apparently Catlyn and Dany have been recast. For Catelyn, Jennifer Ehle is out and Michelle Fairley is in; and for Dany, Emilia Clarke will replace Tamzin Merchant.

In case anyone here isn't aware, HBO will be airing a 15 minute look at the show at 8:45PM tomorrow (December 5th) before the season finale of Boardwalk Empire.
Has anyone here seen Carnivale? it's another epic hbo show with supernatural elements to it,the best tv show i have ever seen. I seriuosly recommend this to anyone who likes fantasy.here is a 11 minute clip of the making of GMT.

Carnivale is not slow at all it's detailed and a fantastic show, much better then for example Heroes. But it's not for those easely scared.
Can't wait for the show. Love Lena h in the Sarah Conner chronicles. I think she will be a bad ass cersei. Still missing deadwood.
Everybody still excited about this? I started (and finished) reading GOT in Jan and learned about this show a couple weeks after. Reading COK now. Anyway, anyone else think the person who is cast as Catelyn looks a little older than she should?

Just about all of them are going to be. Its one of the big things that I think most period pieces suffer, "age modernization" I call it. Lifespan and rites of passage get modernized closer to ours. Sometimes it's not to offend the plebs, sometimes an artistic choice, sometimes a budgetary one, and other times practicality, as with aging kids. With this, I think it's generally a lazy one, and will probably be my primary criticism of the show. Now that's purely speculation, but even if everything else is perfect, it will be impossible for the show to be my #1(Or should I say unseat Sopranos).
My largest dislike in the casting is Dinklage. He is 40, whereas Tyrion is mid 20s, and Jamie is ~10yrs older, but he's younger(a year) here and looks even more so. Plus Tyrion is considerably shorter than Dinklage(probably a good foot), and ugly, and Dinklage is actually pretty darn handsome when you get down to brass tacks.

Here are three artist interpretations of Cersei:

I find all three fair interpretations, and think Lena Headey will fit right in, given the unknown blond caveat that is. On that note here is a little(rough) goldenization of her I found:
