do you think the main characters give you the impression that everyone have the fairy tale ending. I think it lends itself to the stereotype girls are just waiting for "prince charming" to take care of them.

I think she was a strong woman. She could have had an easy life if she had wanted it, but she wanted to prove that she could make it on her own. Until the incident that placed them in danger, she was advancing. She did a lot of investigating on her own. Yes the rich men had easier access to information and protection, but she did not turn to Mo because he could fix the problem, he helped her with the problem because he loved her, not because she couldn't handle her situation. My life is easier since I have someone with whom I share problems and and concerns as well as joy; my life is better for having him in it, but I had a good life before I met him. Should I have ignored love because I gained so much from it? 30 years married, mostly happily.

I agree with Jeanie. Dani was a strong woman, she wasn't waiting around for someone to save her. She didn't run when Kenna told her to, she stayed in NY and tried to learn what she could and some of what she learned broke the case. Not only that but she is the one who takes out Chad, not one of the men. Having someone who is stronger than you to lean on does not make you less strong, it makes you stronger as a team.
