I too am in steerage along with my four children, my sister, her husband and their two children as well as my eldest daughter's friend, Phoebe. What a ship! Even in steerage our cabins are nice and fresh and oh, so clean.
And get this: our meals are included in the ticket price! Glory be, if that don't beat all. I've been told on other ships you have to either bring your own food or pay for each meal. How nice it will be to order anything we want without worrying about cost. I know my children will be tempted to go overboard, seeing as how we've been scraping by on virtual table scraps for so long.
But things are going to be different from here on out. I can feel it! 48 years of a hard living, worsened by that absent husband of mine, but at last I think my luck is finally starting to turn. Just look at this ship and you know it's a sign of a brighter future ahead. The ship of dreams taking us all to America, the land of dreams...
It was exactly how all the newspapers described it. A floating paradise.
Traveling in Steerage is never easy, but Titanic made it better. It was like nothing I had ever seen. Mama said it was too good to be true, but we touched everything and it didn't disappear!
Daniel says he doesn't like ships. They're too big, but he says this one is the most beautiful ship, and that it seems safe enough. Safe enough! It was unsinkable they said!
Everything smelt new, and the sheets were soft.
Titanic was everything we could've asked for
