Rose (obsessedreader9) | 215 comments I completely disagree with your comments on Katherine Boo's Behind the Beautiful Forevers. I thought the author's complex subject was developed in a concise, amazing way.

Behind the Beautiful Forevers is the best non-fiction book I read this year.

Well Rose, it seems that I'm definitely in the minority on this one. Most if not all of the online reviews of this book that I've read have been incredibly positive. And on top of it, I just found out a few hours ago that Behind the Beautiful Forevers won the National Book Award.
Sometimes it just comes down to a matter of personal taste. Perhaps that's why it wasn't a complete hit with me. (Although I thought it's depiction of the poverty and other challenges faced by the India's poor made for very enlightening reading.)
