Any thoughts on the series? I'm about to finish them and I feel super frustrated!

I loved the Maze Runner and the Scorch Trials, I was lukewarm on the Death Cure.

How do you guys feel about Brenda? I never really like her nor the fact that I felt like Dashner kept trying to replace Teresa with her in the series.
I didn't like Teresa either though. I don't think there was any need for romance in the Maze Runner, yet he went for it. Objectively, I prefer Brenda, but I wasn't a fan of the way Dashner introduced her in the book. No chemistry in either direction.
Romance wasn't really necesary, but since Dashner included it...I really liked Teresa though. She was one of my favorite characters. The betrayal just made me like her more, cause I feel like it showed her substance and how much she loved and cared for Thomas. And at the end of the 3rd book, the epilogue reveals how Brenda was just a piece in WICKED's game. In my opinion that makes her a worse betrayer than Teresa.

Brenda was a little annoying because she lied about being from WICKED.
But I liked Brenda's spunk and attitude where I felt Theresa was lacking

Exactly! She was too pro-WICKED for me

There wasn't really a need for romance, but I liked Brenda better in the end. Teresa just got kinda whiny after she lied to him, like she expected him to forgive her.
I know, the entire book had plenty of twists and drama on its own, i didn't think it was neccessary to include the main character's love life. Especially in a dystopian save-the-world type book
But somehow, all dystopian books end up with unnecessary romance.

Try Unwind by Neal Schuster. TOO GOOD. and it's a dystopian novel.
