Wait Brigid, all you lost was the 2nd chapter of Edge, right? Nothing more?
Good Morning Brigid,
Great news about you new (used) comptuer...what wonderful fun!
Wishing you a great weekend with tons of words flowing from your imagination into your keyboard :]

I had that happen to me last November at the end of NaNoWriMo. I had dashed off 20,000 words in about two days and my computer crashed. Thank goodness I had just backed-up my story seconds before my computer went dead.
I still lost a ton of other stuff (that I did not back up, my bad!).
But it is a sick, sick, feeling when that happens.

Hey Brigid,
You are an amazing author. This is something that everyone who has read your stories would agree upon.
However, the downside of putting yourself and your work to the public (which includes posting your reviews and stories) is that not everyone is going to agree with you.
The bottom line is that, no matter how great you are, there will always be someone who is jealous of your brilliance and wish to tear you down.
Heck, a couple months ago I received a one star, on SOA, from someone on Goodreads that I really doubt that she even read my novel (she also posted a one star on several other books that day). No reason, no review, just a one star. At first I was crushed, and then I looked at all the other readers and other stars…and realized…that in the big picture that that one person’s opinion was not worthy of my disappointment.
Just hold your head up high, and ignore her. Rise above the situation and do not let one person's anger get you down.
Always remember that
You are an amazingly talented writer.
I know it (I promise you that I would not write a letter of recommendation for just anyone...my reputation depends on who I recommend).
Everyone in our group knows it (just look at all the positive feedback comments you receive on your writing).
And most importantly YOU know you are an excellent author.
So, again, please just ignore the banter of someone who was angry and lashing out at a situation.
You are a bigger person. And a most talented author :]

And as for all the global eco-friendly tree huggy stuff. Oy- not in the entertainment too! Give me a good blow -em up adventure sort of thing and I'm a happy camper.

I know what girl you are talking about (ruby, wasn't it?) AND she is the biggest liar i have EVER met. she tries to annoy me and she says she reads books that she never has read. i can tell which ones are which. when they are fake she says "i read this and . . . " and they aren't she just doesn't.
That person was rude, Brigid, and I feel sorry you had to go through her pointless rants on how terrible she thinks people who aren't her are.
