No. It's just a good book. Your friend doesn't understand the seriousness and severity of what she's saying.
No! That's a ridicouks thing for someone to say to you.I'm one of those people who can totally tell when I'm getting brainwashed. And you are not
everything in the media is propaganda and contains subtle brainwashing. even if it's not owned/published by a large corporation that has an agenda behind everything produced, you will still be affected by the author's thoughts and opinions--these are low forms of brainwashing. that doesn't mean the brainwashing is even intentional. however, if you're aware of this and the impact it has upon your thoughts, it becomes less effective. as far as the hunger games goes, yeah, it's propaganda. it makes us think a world like Panem will never happen when it's exactly what the powers that be are striving for.

I think that's ridiculous.Yes, some people will go with anything new, with all the new fads.
But that doesn't mean that everybody is like that.
I read the book far before the movie, the movie might not have even been talked about then that I know of. And I was there (first in line) for the Hunger Games movie. And somebody said I was just going with the fad.
Yeah, it made me a bit mad. But then I realized, people will say what they want. I know that I truly love the book and the movie, and when everyone forgets about them, I wont.
So don't listen to what others say.

cause honestly I thought to really enjoy reading is a good thing??????
