Honestly, I read the whole series a couple days ago...couldn't put the darn things down!!! But the ending to the trilogy made me feel a bit...I don't know...empty, as a reader. Like I wanted more. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad Katniss ended up alive and well (and loving Peeta!), but there seemed to be no thorough explanation or insight into her life after killing Coin. And randomly mentioning Gale and her mother? Again, I felt it lacked...something. Any thoughts?

Agreed...No joke, after I read the series or the 7th time, I sat and complained to my mom about how it was lacking and how I wanted an explanation, closure, something more than what was given. It made me think of when I was younger and I didn't want to put effort into my writing anymore, so I would pretty much conclude my story halfway through a climax or even a paragraph...made me sad that there was no explanation about their (Katniss and Peeta's) lives after D13 and the Capitol....
exactly! i wanted to know more about katniss and peeta as well, not just, "oh, and all of the sudden, they're married and have kids." what?!
I totally agree! Fine, all of my favorite characters died but seriously? Suzanne Collins didnt even explain how Annie felt about Finnicks death!
I thought it was great the ending was my favorite part of the book. it was awesome.
It didn't end how I wanted it to it seemed almost rushed like after she kills coin it's all oh ya and me and peeta have kids now :/
Not enough detail, emotion, or closure. I like the book, the story is still good, but she doesn't make you feel for the characters the same way she did in the first two books. Maybe it's because she is writing from Katniss' viewpoint. Maybe she focused too much as coming across depressed and PTSD, and not enough on filling in the reader and allowing the reader develop emotions. Quite honestly, Mockingjay should have made me bawl my eyes out. I cry for sad books. I honestly do. Yet, I only shed a few tears when I realized (view spoiler). For a book that has so many sad occurrences, it isn't written in a way to trigger the readers emotion, which really annoys me. I mean Rue's death, although inevitable, still shocked me and I cried for ages. Mockingjay should have been a tear-jerking, heart-rending war book, and I think it only managed to depress and confuse at the sad points. :/

It was my least favorite in the series but I totally understand all of it and love it death anyway.
I hate Gale after reading Mockingjay
mockingjay is my leas favorite book of the series, it seemed like it was written by a whole different author! (even though it wasnt) i know it would be hard to write the last book of a series and trying to make it fantasic, but i think that in the 1st or 2nd katniss wouldnt even THINK about killing peeta, because she was hinking hat.oh and P.S. i I HATE GALE!!!!!!! my friend likes him even though she read the ending of the series!!!! she is totaly CRAZY!!!!
