You're right about Alfred. He is one of the kids. Mr. Cattermole's first name is Reginald. For the third one, I mean the name starts with the letter E and ends with the letter E.

Wilhelmina
In the sixth book, just before Ron and Hermione leave to take their apparition tests, they see the Montgomery sisters walking by. Why are the sisters upset?

oh, was it cuz their parents were trying to pull them out of school? actually, i beleive that was the patil twins... never mind...
Yeah, it was a family member who died.
This isn't really another question, but who was the family member who died, and how?

do I get to ask a question?? If I do, my question is what is dean thomas's patronus? It IS mentioned.
Hmmm...Luna's is a hare, Ernie's is a boar, and Seamus' is a fox. Hermione has an otter and Ron has a terrier. I can't remember Dean's being mentioned. I guess I'll have to go look it up.

If I got it right, what are the ingredients that harry, ron, and hermione are forced to steal from snape's personal stores to make the polyjuice potion??
(Hermione also smells fresh parchment.)
Bicorn horn and Boomslang skin.
What Quidditch team did Oliver Wood get taken onto after leaving Hogwarts?

What Quidditch team did Oliver Wood get taken onto after leaving Hogwarts?

if so, what is ron's favorite quidditch team? (sorry, mind's blank, can't think of a good Q. :P)

hm. the question I really want to ask is "what can we assume is behind the locked door in the department of mysteries" but that's probably too abstract and open to debate for this kind of thing.
soo ... what creatures speak gobbledegook??

Ravenclaw's Tiara
Slytherin's locket
Hufflepuff's cup
the Peverell Ring
The Diary
Harry
(what do you mean by assumed?? they were all stated clearly in the books.)
who's deaths did voldemort use for each horcrux?? He killed a different person for each horcrux.

Peverell Ring - Tom Riddle Senior
Diary - Moaning Myrtle
Hufflepuff's Cup - Hepzibah Smith
Slytherin's Locket - A Muggle tramp
Ravenclaw's Diadem - An Albanian peasant
Nagini - Bertha Jorkins (Dumbledore thought Frank Bryce)
Harry - N/A
When is Scrimgeour first mentioned?

If you've read Fantastic Beasts carefully: which department in the ministry is the largest??
The Department of Magical Law Enforcement.
What are the three divisions of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures?
What are the three divisions of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures?

(above, i dont think the death/horcrux list is correct. Moaning Myrtle was killed by the basilisk, not voldemort himself, and why would Voldemort use a muggle tramp, an albanian peasant, or other such people (hepzibah smith, anyone?) to create containers for his precious soul? dumbledore thought that he saved the making of Horcruxes for particularly important murders. also, Harry was made into a Horcrux at Voldemort's own "death" but he didn't die because he had horcruxes, obviously. im curious, which Horcrux did Voldemort use the first time his Adava Kevadra curse backfired?)
Question: What is the first time Ron almost dies?
Kj, The Horcrux list I posted contains the murders JKR said Voldemort used in a webchat (She also might of said it somewhere else.) A pretty long essay on someone's take on the significance of the deaths is on the Leaky here: http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/fea...
I think all the Horcruxes would have played a part in preventing the death of their owner.
You're right about the three divisions.
I'm not really sure about your question. Do you mean when he is knocked out when he sacrifices himself in the first book so Harry can get acrosss the chessboard to the stone? Or is it when Ron is in danger from the mountain troll, or Fluffy, when Malfoy doesn't show up to duel? I'm not really sure.

When there in the forest look for the monster of the Chamber of secrets but instead find Aarogg

what is the core of the Elder Wand? It's not in the books, its on JRK's website
I think J.K. said that the core of the Elder Wand is the tail hair of a Thestral.
Harry's middle name is James.
Who was the Minister of Magic before Fudge?

isn't it something like millicent or billicent ...?? I think its in GoF I'll go check ...

uhm what were the names of the kids that Voldemort terrorized in the cave when he was in the orphanage??
on a side note, I've always wondered what exactly Voldemort-then-Tom-Riddle did to them in that cave; it must have been something incredibly powerful or nasty to make the place worthy enough for Voldemort to hide one of his Horcruxes there and bother to remember it later in his life when he was finding a good hiding place. Maybe it was the first time he performed an Unforgivable Curse, like Crucio or something, but he would need a wand for something that powerful, wouldn't he, and he wasn't eleven then ... that's just me speculating ...
Amy Benson and Dennis Bishop
I've always wondered what Voldemort did to them too Elizabeth. I have no idea. Ms. Cole said they were never right afterwards. Maybe Voldemort messed with their minds somehow. You're right he didn't have a wand though.
Who is the Healer in the Janus Thickey Ward at St Mungo's?

In CoS when Harry, Ron, and Hermione are trying to get a signature to get Moste Potente Potions out of the Restricted section from Lockhart, Hermione's pretense for getting the books is she thinks the book will help her understand a book Lockhart wrote. Which one is it?
Gadding with Ghouls
Umbridge uses Slytherin's locket to say she is related to what pure-blood family?

what were the codenames and identities of everyone on Potterwatch and what did they call Voldemort??
Lee Jordan - River
Lupin - Romulus
Kingsley Shacklebolt - Royal
Fred - Rapier (first Rodent)
Voldemort - the Chief Death Eater
What is Molly Weasley's maiden name?

In which book is Mundungus first mentioned? NOT the fourth book, btw
He's mentioned in The Chamber of Secrets when Mr. Weasley says Mundungus tried to put a spell on him when his back was turned.
What spell glues a person's tongue to the roof of their mouth?

I never really came up with an answer. What do you think?
What potion does Harry manage to turn a perfect lavender?
What potion does Harry manage to turn a perfect lavender?
I think the baby-like thing at King's Cross is the last piece soul Voldemort has. (the piece that resides in his body when he is alive.) I guess that's what he becomes when he dies.
The potion Harry manages to turn a perfect lavender is the Draught of Living Death.
What mistake does Harry make when making the Draught of Peace?

And about the thumping-thing question, yeah, JKR stated that it was Voldemort, the remains of Voldemort's soul and that's what he became when he died. He was unable to "go on" and unable to "come back" as a ghost because of his ruined, splintered soul and so he was stuck in limbo.
in DH when harry, ron, and hermione are infiltrating the ministry, what does harry do that alerts the ministry that there are intruders??
