Actually, it a nice deal: 80$ per year, that makes 6.7$ a month for one ebook that can cost you 10-15$, plus free shipping, and Amazon Instant. If I lived in the States I'd pay for it...

I love the deal. I'd have Amazon Prime if it was available to Australians.

Amazon does have a history of branding things 'free.' Pay $80 a year for Prime, for instance, and get free two-day shipping. I don't gripe about it because I sure do love the no-extra-cost two-day shipping.
