The first episode of the BBC's radio production of Neil Gaiman's 'Neverwhere' is available for free download at Neverwhere BBC.

James McAvoy! Benedict Cumberbatch! Christopher Lee! Why are you still here?

Derek (derek_broughton) | 796 comments Because I downloaded the whole series yesterday, and was listening to London Below at 1:30 this morning :)

In fact, somewhere it said that the series was only available on BBC's site until March 29 (episodes 2-6 are not available from BBC for download - only streamed from the site - but the enterprising listener can easily find a copy).

I figured the enterprising listener didn't need any extra encouragement (first one is free, buddy - just try it!)

Pimping books for your GR writer buddies still counts as SPAM. I suggest you try the "Pimp Your Stuff HERE ONLY" thread for this.

Pretty cool site that does a 'pay as much as you like' for bundles of independent ebooks. One of the current ones is 8 works of weird fiction selected by Jeff Vandermeer. Goes until July 23rd.

If you go to the Amazon Kindle store and enter "99 cent kindle books" you will get a long list of free and 99 cent books. If you search the same from Google, you will get links to a bunch of lists people have put together of what they consider the better 99 cent books. Hope this helps.

What were the Vandermeer picks?

PS - I tweeted a pic of an enormous fungus which just grew very suddenly from my airconditioner outlet a couple of weeks ago and "The Vandermeer" retweeted it. Quietly stoked :)

If you go to their archives you can click on the "Jeff Vandermeer's weird fiction bundle" to see his selections. There was also a "weird bundle 2: the return of the weird". I'll have to find your mushroom picture when I'm back on a real computer.

Didn't find it. Around what date did you tweet the fungus?

14 December. Also took a bunch of new fungal fotos today - the stuff has sprung up everywhere overnight in every variety possible. Very creepy.

The kindle edition of Ken Liu's book The Grace of Kings is on sale at Amazon US for $2.99. Not sure how long the sale will last.

Derek (derek_broughton) | 796 comments If you read Science Fiction, check out the new Tor.com eBook Club. They're offering a free Mobi or ePub (your choice) e-book every month with no obvious strings attached—the first book, available now, is the fabulous The Three-Body Problem.

[psst. It says it's only open to residents of the US and Canada, but I'm in the UK (now, I AM still a Canadian resident, but they don't know that, and I had no trouble downloading it).]
