Roderick Davis This is my first book! I hope you enjoy reading a slice of semi humourous scifi. There are multiple threads that run through the book designed to challenge your sense of morality. Don't worry though its not too heavy!

Roderick Davis Any comments on my first book are welcome. Please give it a try.

Nic It does seem interesting and the blurb seems witty, although i'm not a big fan of Sci-Fi Sorry. If you'd like to get some reviews for your book try searching a few semi known Sci fi blogs. I'm sure they might be interested in reviewing your book for a free copy. Good luck, all the best!

Roderick Davis Thanks for the advice! I shall certainly try that out.

Roderick Davis The book is now avaible on smashwords. I would love some people just to give it a read and give a review.

Nic Hey Roderick, could you add a small blurb of your book. Maybe it might intrigue me and other reviewers to read your book. For now I only know the gengre and I can't be sure i'll like or dislike it with only that information. :) thanks

Roderick Davis Absolutely

The planet Fol. A world situated in an unimportant and rather bland area of the galaxy is the setting for a showdown of galactic superpowers. On one side you have the Imrams. A species of fanatics who are cruel and savage. On the other side you have just one man. Medium age Belm.
Belm is a very reluctant employee of Earths government. His job is to make sure other species behave themselves and follow a path of morality and goodness. This he does by killing people. Lots of people.
Now Belm must stop the Imrams on the planet Fol. They want the planets vast reserves of nuclear material. Billions of lives could be in the balance. But just how low will Belm go to stop them?
The journey will take Belm through space, through pain, through life and death. Still as long as he can get drunk and eat plenty of toast he should be okay.

Roderick Davis If anyone would care to review my book then I'd be very pleased. Go on give a try!

message 9: by Nic (new)

Nic It depends, of course an amazon link might make up my choice. I like to know what I read before agreeing to review it :)

Roderick Davis People may accuse me off bumping this topic. To those people I say.....Yes, Yes I have. Still just remember that this book is a far better investment for your time and money than say Cooking with some celebrity or other. They all use Ghost writers anyway and I say its about time we stopped the abuse of spectral beings. Please free these poor souls from their word processors and give generously to the cause of a real life author. Buy my book.

Roderick Davis Well I still haven't had any reviews of my book although most people who have read it seemed to enjoy it. Being the vain person I am though I would like some reviews.
Still despite the lack of reviews I am cracking on with the sequel which features our Hero (or anti hero) running into some disgusting green blobs who just happen to take a dislike to him...

message 13: by Nic (new)

Nic Awesome, reviews are nice. I guess patients is the key, I would suggest you could send some messages to people via hotmail or whatnot requesting revieews. Find blogs you like or blogs which reviews books similar to yours, they might appreciate the time you have and your book. If the yagree to review it I guess they'll post it everywhere :)) Good luck!

message 14: by Roderick (new)

Roderick Davis Thanks for nice words Nic! Anyway I've just had a good idea for a bit of humour for the second book.
Also someone suggested starting a thread on amazons kindle forum about the book. Do you know if its a good idea?

message 15: by Nic (new)

Nic It can be a good idea, but try not to seem as if your promoting your novel as much as you're just talking about something relevant which then brings the idea of your novel so you ahd to include it. Like I mean people will most likely not enjoy it if it's very visable that your just promoting, while if you talk about something and it just seems t come up they won't mind it and sometimes even take a look at your book :)

message 16: by Roderick (new)

Roderick Davis Yeah I was going to try and be subtle about it. I have started threads on various forums, but they are dedicated to pushing the book.
I think I'll try contacting bloggers etc. Thanks for the reply.

message 17: by Roderick (new)

Roderick Davis Well finally reviews have started to appear and I'm a very happy man. I have two five star reviews on amazon.com and a four out five on Amazon.co.uk. Nice comments about the book as well.

Nic Great, good job Roderick, it just takes time. You must also keep in mind that bloggers have a large amount of requests everyday and thus making a 10h read x (how many books they have) a big challenge time wise. You just have to be patient. Also remember, bad reviews aren't necisarilly bad, they are just info and thoughts on what could be arrange for a better novel :) Best of luck. - Nic.

Roderick Davis Thanks for the reply. Those bloggers are very busy people!
