Summer 2012 How to play "10 Degrees of Separation"

Ten Degrees of Separation (TDoS): Read a chain of ten books chosen from the 5-star reads of ten different RwS members.

First, select a RwS member and read one of their 5-star books. For your second book, find another RwS member that has also given the first book 5-stars and read one of their 5-star books. For the third book, find a RwS member that has also given your second book 5-stars and read one of their 5-star books, like so:

15.1 -- Bleak House, rated 5-stars by Elizabeth (Alaska) and Anika
15.2 -- The Elegance of the Hedgehog, rated 5-stars by Anika and Jennifer N
15.3 -- The Grapes of Wrath, rated 5-stars by Jennifer N and Deedee
15.4 -- Tobacco Road, rated 5-stars by Deedee and Rebekah
15.5 -- The Godfather, rated 5-stars by Rebekah and Caroline.....

Hint: There is a quick way to search for member's 5-star reads. Click on the RwS "Bookshelf" link on the top right. On the top left below the RwS photo icon, enter a book title in the search box. On the results page click on the "view group reviews »»" link. An example..

Scoring:
15.1 - 1st book = 15 points
15.2-4 - 2nd, 3rd, 4th books = 20 points
15.5-7 - 5th, 6th, 7th books = 30 points
15.8-15.10 - 8th, 9th, 10th books = 45 points.

Completion bonus: 100 points.

The fine print:
1. Just to make selecting books for this sub-challenge more challenging, re-reads, YA with a Lexile score less than 800, and graphic novels are not allowed.
2. You cannot claim regular style points for any book you read for TDoS (nor do the TDoS tasks count as combo style points for Reading with Style's 10 and 20 point tasks).
3. You can complete TDoS as many times as you like with one important caveat: you cannot repeat a member's shelves.
