yeah, I think you're right but the only title I could remember was The War God's Own. Don't ask me why.

Cameron (cswagner) I generally find myself reading more of the longer more epic novels. I don't know exactly what you mean by hack and slash, but I'm not wholeheartedly interested in reading novels that have an incredible amount of battle scenes and no dialogue. Maybe that was why I was so interested in the Mistborn trilogy. I often found Sanderson telling us how his characters were feeling or what they were thinking. When he did get to the battle scenes I often found my mind wondering. Just hard to keep interested sometimes.

Another thing I've noticed is that I can get attached to certain characters really well. So standalone novels don't often work for me, especially if they are 200-300 pages. It's just never enough it seems.

Cameron, Maybe you'd like my stories as well. My entire writing style is from some character's point of view. Even the description of the world around them is colored by their perceptions. My feeling is that the author should be invisible within the book.

Zachary (zacharymmkay) If I need a quick read I turn to "Hack-n-Slash" my favorite supplier is R.A. Salvatore. The Legend of Drizzt series is amazing. Unforgettable characters, with gripping action.

Sentinelspire by Mark Sehestedt was really good.

I am also going to read Swordmage by Richard Baker. In the near future.

Fox (foxmists) | 218 comments R. A. Salvatore is a good author. I have several of his books. :)
