To be honest, I don’t like Clary at all. I find her selfish, immature, and obnoxious. She also acts insanely stupid and reckless. Stepping into the portal? Taking Luke with her? Ending up in Lake Lyn? Losing her Stele? She doesn’t even act sorry for what she does. All she ever does is think about herself and Jace. Another thing I hate about her is that she can’t take care of herself. I know that she can make new runes, but every single time she gets into a fight, someone else ends up rescuing her. If Clary is supposed to be the main character/protagonist/heroine, why is she so helpless? I could go on and on, but I’m going to stop now.

I get that her being weak and having flaws make her more realistic, but I always liked stronger characters. For example, Katniss from The Hunger Games or Tris from Divergent. Both of them had a bunch of flaws, but they were brave and strong and I admired them. I can usually tolerate Clary most of the times, but sometimes I just can't stand her.

I'll admit, I wasn't really impressed with Clary as a heroine, either, which is part of why I stopped reading the series after City of Glass. She seemed way too guy-obsessed for someone who had a lot bigger issues in her life, and she kept doing stupid stuff to prove how "brave" she is supposed to be. She just really started irritating me.

I like Clary however in some situations she annoys me. She can come across as selfish (not thinking about Simon as often etc etc)and can be weak at times. But I think that makes her more realist as it's just her flaws. I like that she does whatever she can to save her loved ones no matter how dangerous- even if it causes problems it shows the Shadowhunter in her.
I HATE THAT B***** she is ughh frustrating and i hate her personality
She doesn't really bother me. I just think people think of her as helpless is because obviously she needs alot of saving, but think about it, practically everybody in the book had all their lives to learn how to fight and she just one day got put into their world I think anybody would need all lot saving if this happened to them.

i do like her. i like the fact that shes human but she holds her ground and stands up for herself. like a mix between rose hathaway and bella swan.

I don't mind her, she doesn't really bother me, but she's definitively not a favorite. My favorite female characters in TMI and TDI are Tessa and Isabelle.
I don't mind her. She's no Maximum or even a Meggie, but she's better than Sophie Mercer off of the Hex Hall series. And that girl in "Sweep." But Simon is still my favorite. :P
She is OK sometimes but most of the time and can't stand her she is my least favorite heroine in all the books that I have read.
I don't like her much, she never says sorry for anything she does wrong and I just find her sort of irritating.

Tbh, I dont mind her at all. I have read some characters that I found alot more annoying than her. I thought she handled things well, especially in the City of Fallen Angels. I couldn't have handled things that well, thats for sure.

I didn't really like her either. And I agree with how she's always doing something stupid. And she's whiny. Love some of the other characters though. Isabel and (oohhhh I forget his name.. her brothers boyfriend). I've read all the books thus far simply cuz I bought the first 3 as a package and so had to continue on. Call me crazy, but I've always finished a series, even if I don't like it overall. There's usually something about the story that keeps me going, if for no other reason than 'I'm not a quitter.'.. LOL

No, not really. She's very impulsive and does things without thinking it through. She also needs constant saving which is a total turn off

Clary is like the Bella of the series, useless and getting in the way, I like her enough, she just isn't a good main character, hope she gets better in book 5, CAME OUT TODAY!! So happy
