The perfect cut is a book that talks about a teen that was experiencing a tough time alone and started to cut him. This is not a book that read for fun and laughs, it’s dark and deep which reflect a social issue during this time.
It’s really amazed that I felt I was that character (Bryan) when I read this book. I can feel what he felt and thought. After Bryan’s sister (Michelle) died, I think Bryan and he’s normal and warm family just suddenly crashed. He’s father became cold and not back home and he’s mom was crying and drinking at night to wash the pain of losing child. Also he started not care about anyone or anything and stays at his own world to try to not touch this cruel world.
Bryan said to his doctor, “I found he’s alive when was cutting” Because Bryan was love he’s sister so much so he followed what Michelle did to cut herself, I think that’s Bryan want to feel what she was feeling. Bryan can’t handle the scar of his sister death, so Bryan want to let the pain to cover the pressures and started cut himself. He want to let the pain became relist and visible that can make him feel his sister still with him.
I really like this book which makes me think a lot. It’s deep and hard to guess what they were thinking when they cut themselves. But writer really gives me plenty of pictures and feels when I read it, and makes me really excited to tough the things I have never seem. Also, it was really opened my eye to look at this social issues that I found out those people cut themselves it’s always have a lot problem with parents. If Bryan’s parent’s be more stronger and give more lover to Bryan to let the love cover the scar, let time to wash it away and live with the memories while keep the life going. Bryan will not have that dark time.
