Cherra,
Thanks girl, when I'm done with my BDB series Im gonna def. look into Keri Arthur with ur brief summary it seems more than interesting.

And I must agree with you on the Lesser story thing, they are so boring rite! Everytime it was Mr. X, or Mr Whoever's turn to speak i found myself skimming thru too!

Suz, I think I'm going to start Divine Misdemeanors today, too. I haven't heard very good things though, so I'm a bit afraid.

So I finished this on a few days ago Michelle and honestly I liked it! I thought it went back to how Merry was in the first few books! I loved that they were back in LA and she was doing detective/police work again! Did you read it? What did you think?

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1831 comments Suz, I actually had little love for it, unfortunately. Gave it a 2. I much preferred all the courtly drama. I thought there was too little action in this one and the writing left much to be desired. But the tidbits about the soldiers and there being unrest back in faerie will get me to read the next one!

Susan (Suz) (sharney) | 292 comments Hi Michelle, I noticed I saw the comments in the DM discussion... I think I am one of the few peeps who actually enjoyed it... I did think the soldier thing was interesting and the black humvee thing! Oh and the whole new sithen for Rhys... I think I gave it a 3 maybe a 4... but I do understand some of the points you made about it :)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1831 comments Win some, lose some! More than anything, I wish she'd made more out of one of the many interesting ideas she hinted at. To me it felt like a lot of set-up, which is understandable, but frustrating!

new user--I say you should give it a shot. she is very promiscuous in the first book or 2 then she settles it down to 2-3 guys. ;-)

I am re-reading "Lover Avenged", that is sooo wonderful! Listening to "Cerulean Sins" in the car

message 1416: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (ellenpenleysmith) I have a book reading question::

I want to read the mini reads Omgea and Alpha, but I haven't read the Mercedes Thompson series. Can I read this series without spoiling anything for the MT series?

message 1417: by new_user (new)

new_user Hmmm, I think so. But you can't read O&A without reading the short story in On The Prowl called "Alpha and Omega."

message 1418: by Valorie (new)

Valorie I finished Eve of Destruction (Marked, Book 2) by S.J. Day and loved it! I cant wait to start the next book in the series! So far both Eve of Darkness and Eve of Destruction were GREAT!
I think I might start Night's Cold Kiss (A Dark Brethren Novel, book 1) by Tracey O'Hara next!

The latest Riley Jensen book; Bound by Darkness" has to be my favorite so far, I've enjoyed the journey and learning curves as Riley and Rhoan come to grips with their abilities.

I've never read the short story and I didn't have any trouble with CRY WOLF.

I thought it was good. Put the 2nd book The Dead Girls' Dance on my TBR pile (which is growing at an alarming rate)

Next I think I'm going to start Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire #1) by George Martin

Oh yay! I really wanted to move on to the next in the series, but I have several library returns that need to be read first. I keep reminding myself that the faster I read, the faster it will be over...then I will be sad.

One of my fave series ever. If you like regular fantasy you will love it.

HBO just finished shooting a pilot for it--they will decide by March whether or not they are going to pick it up for a series. *fingers crossed*
