Oh, he tells her what he wants, you say? I'm not interested much in the evil stepsister/mother theme, but I can forgive it this time, LOL. ;)

Danielle "The Book Huntress" wrote: "And with a Scottish brogue? Even better!"Yeah! I want to go get the book and type out one of the sentences for you. LOL
Ok, here's one:"Do I really look like a man who would cry surrender so soon after greeting ye?"..."You dinnae know very much about Scotsmen, Wife. We're nae intimidated by a few cold glances. In Scotland, we're more practiced in the arts of warming up our women."
It's heavier in other places, but this was a small example.
I just finished
and thought it was a good anthology. I really enjoyed 3 out of the 4 stories. I'm now reading
new_user wrote: "It had better be. That was pretty tame. LOL!"That was just an example of the brogue... not the sex. ROFL

I didn't want to put it down to go to sleep last night.I'm trying to do some Christmas reading, but I'll probably read Touch the Dark (Cassandra Palmer, #1) by Karen Chance soon, so I can find out about these Pritkin and Mircea characters that everyone is going on about. LOL. "
Ooh, two of my top 3 fave series (the Fever series being the 3rd).
Enjoy Danielle!
It usually takes forever to get books in from my library, but for some reason 12 came in all at the same time! Finished 2 but still working on a lot. Here are a couple that I'm working on now:Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs
A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin
The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
Ink Exchange by Melissa Marr
Deathwish by Rob Thurman

I love this series--my younger brother is a fantasy reader and got me to read it a year or so ago. I had never read fantasy and am now a fan because of that series. My mom is reading it right now and is really into it. It's dark, but his character development is just so great.
Now if the man would finish the 5th book--he said at the end of the 4th that he was almost done with the 5th, that the 4th got too big so he just cut it in half and the 5th would be out within the year. That was 2005 and he still hasn't submitted it to the publisher. And there are 2 more after that to finish up the series. The guy's gonna pull a Robert Jordan and kick the bucket before it's finished.
I started both
and

yesterday. Bloody Good is different than anything I've read, in a good way. Wolfsbane and Mistletoe has been kind of hit-or-miss, but that's how it normally is for me and anthologies.
Shannon, what do you think of the Karen Chance story in Wolfsbane and Mistletoe? I haven't read it yet.
Mel wrote: "Shannon, what do you think of the Karen Chance story in Wolfsbane and Mistletoe? I haven't read it yet."I haven't gotten to it yet, but I'll let you know when I do!
Oh that'd be nice. It's the first Lia story. And apparently Lia is as much fun as Cassie and Dory :)

Mel wrote: "Oh that'd be nice. It's the first Lia story. And apparently Lia is as much fun as Cassie and Dory :)"I really like Lia and her stories. Its really the most in depth look Chance has given us into the werewolves, and we see a different side to the mages too. Lia is also a really fun character.
Oh I'm glad to hear! I'm curious about the werewolves of KC's universe cause I haven't met them up close and personal yet (just saw them stalking around in MAGIC). Cassie and Dorina will definitely meet but I read that Lia might also pop up in the others's books... :)

Jennifer, that's a really good list. Happy Reading!
I'm reading
. I was reading it for the Nalini Singh story, but since it's third, I'm going to be a good girl and read all the stories. It's pretty good, so far.
I finished Posion Study and I like it- a lot. And now I am trying to get into A Timetraveller's Wife. Eek. Not doing so well at the moment!
Ellen ♥ wrote: "I finished Posion Study and I like it- a lot. And now I am trying to get into A Timetraveller's Wife. Eek. Not doing so well at the moment!"Are you going to read Magic Study and Fire Study? The books just keep getting better!
I have Magic Study and I am trying to find Fire Study but I do plan on reading all of them.It took the first eight chapters or so to get really into the book but once I did I loved it!

Her writing style was different than anything I had previously read and that took some getting used to.
I finished Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs. I thought it was pretty good. Anything with Bran in it is good by me.Got some more new books from the library (they've sent me 15 in the last week or 2, and that NEVER happens). Pretty excited about these 3:
Blood Promise by Richelle Mead
Divine Misdemeanors by LKH
Mona Lisa Awakening by Sunny
Anything with Bran in it is good by me.I totally agree, Bran is definitely one of my favorite characters.
I didn't like the Alpha and Omega books as much as the Mercy books but I really liked them. Anna is a different kind of heroine. She isn't the in your face kick ass type...she's more like Sookie Stackhouse in that regard.
I thought Cry Wolf was okay, but I loved loved loved Hunting Ground! There's quite a lot of Bran in there too Jennifer. We even get a sneak peek in his feelings about his second wife (you almost feel sorry for her, almost). I really would recommend Hunting Ground.
I am reading:
Death's Mistress by Karen Chance. This book is the second in the Midnight's Daughter/Dorina Basarab series (first being: (Midnight's Daughter).
The books are set in the Cassie Palmer world but the heorine this time is a tough dhampir with a heart of gold.
The books are a bit more violent and dark than the Cassie books, Dorina is a bit more blunt and sarcastic (withouth being the girl with the tough chick attititude, which I hate).
I absolutely loved Midnight's Daughter and I'm lucky enough to get an early copy of Death's Mistress. I'll probably read till my alarm clock for next morning goes off.
Reading the Gardella books by Colleen Gleason. 2 down, and the last one was of the frustrating, edge of your seat variety. Now on to the third!
Finished The Time Travelers Wife. And I am going to start Strange Angels (Lily St Crow? I can't remember)tomorrow or sometime later tonight.
Michelle M. wrote: "Reading the Gardella books by Colleen Gleason. 2 down, and the last one was of the frustrating, edge of your seat variety. Now on to the third!"I've been watching your updates... It makes me want to go finish the series right now, but I must finish my challenge books, first :)
I'm having a tough time deciding if I want to start Prince Charming by Julie Garwood which is much later in her historicals. This one starts 1868. I thought I would save that one to read just before I started For the Roses and The Clayborne Brides One Pink Rose, One White Rose, One Red Rose since they are closer in story and timeline. It's either that or The Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie. Any recommendations?
Prince Charming is so good! I haven't read The Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie, but I intend to read that one, as well. Both good choices.
Danielle "The Book Huntress" wrote: "Prince Charming is so good! I haven't read The Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie, but I intend to read that one, as well. Both good choices."Well, Prince Charming is a stand alone... so it wouldn't hurt to read that one first.
To repeat myself, I wish I had more time for rereads! I'd definitely reread Prince Charming and For the Roses, and many other books I loved!

That may be my next series--I just started Cat & Bones, then I have Midnight's Daughter here to read, and then Death's Mistress will be out on 1/5, but after that, I'm all over Gardella--I need to read me some carriage scenes.
I just finished Shadowland finally. It took me a while to get into it, but once I got about half way through I started to get more into it and I think that i like it more than that last one, just not as much as the first.I haven't decided what to read next, I have too many books to chose from :S
Just finished Deathwish by Rob Thurman. The more I read about Cal, the more I like him.Right now, I'm reading Blood Promise by Richelle Mead. Things are starting to get mysterious and I am very intrigued.
Waiting on Hunting Ground. Can't wait to read it.
Blood Promise is good but I felt like that book was more of a set-up for the rest of the series. I finished Strange Angels and I absolutely loved it!! And now I am reading: I'd tell you I love you, but then I would have to kill you by Ally Carter. Such a long title! So far it's good.
Just wondering...since I'm wrapping up the House of Night series by P.C. Cast, there are a few other series I'm looking at. What do you guys think of the books?I'm looking at [image error] ,
, and
.
