How are you liking it?"
Im reading the paper back one that's about 1152 pages im at page 196. It's ok so far, interesting story line!"
I couldn't get into it until half way then I was like ho hum. LOL! Although I can't wait to see the movie though LOL!

Well, to be fair, I had just read the BDB series and the Midnight Breed series and I really liked those. You know sometimes the "rebound book" doesn't get a fair shot when you have just finished a series you love.

Oh yeah I have not read the Breed series but I hear it's just as good as BDB, so I can totally understand that!!

It took me 2 times to get into Anita Blake - but I'm enjoying the books at lot more this time. I liked the Merry Gentry books too - although a lot people made complaints after the first 2 or 3 books. I thought it was better than a lot of books that other people were crazy about and I couldn't get past the first chapter.

It takes a while to get into that book but then it gets really good. Are they seriously making a movie of the Host?? I had not heard that!

It's just a sweet fairy tale-ish YA book.

Now I'm reading Blood Bound by Patricia Briggs, whom I saw at Necronomicon this past weekend. I sat in on a panel and enjoyed her talk on grabbing the reader not literally, LOL). I'm liking the book, too.

Yeah it does I will have to admit that.

I am also going to be listening to the audiobook for The Scent of Shadows The First Sign of the Zodiac while I'm at work. Downloaded it from audible last month, so I've been meaning to read it.
Incidently, you can read the first 80 pages of SCENT OF SHADOWS online at the following website: http://browseinside.harpercollins.com/index.aspx?isbn13=9780060898915

I am not sure yet if this book is paranormal but I am about to start
you can let me know. Have any of you heard about
I think it is a YA or JF but I am gunna read that next and I think it is set in the rural part of the country and another book
is pretty much the same chain of events only it happens in the city. Then there is a sequel to Life as we knew it.

I haven't read THE LOVELY BONES, but I know several people who have. I wouldn't consider it paranormal really. The other 2 you mention sound really interesting and I've added them to my "to read" shelf.

Jinnifer, I have Life as We Knew It on TBR, but I really hope the sequel is not just a repeat except in the country. D:

Now reading Dexter in the Dark by Jeff Lindsay and Last Battle of the Icemark by Stuart Hill. Getting ready to start Foxmask by Juliet Marilier also.

You know I am not sure if that is all there is to it someone said it was just a different view of the same event???

I thought it was pretty good. I think I liked the first couple of books just a little better, but I still had a hard time putting this one down. (I may have been late coming back from lunch once or twice because of it)

I liked BONE CROSSED the least of all the Mercy Thompson books. Lots of extraneous characters I didn't care for.

yes when i read about it online i was afraid of that. seems like they were introducing too many new characters. oh well i guess im going to have to find out. it will be such ashame if its not as good. i really like the series so far.

It's a shame. I haven't read a good UF book since Dreamfever came out :(

Hehehe. I've never had the author comment on one of my reviews before. Jennifer Armintrout commented on my review of

I literally LOL'd when I read it--"OMG SEAHORSIE YAY!"
Is it bad that now I want to read her books just based on her snarky comment? :)

how is this series compared to the southern vampire series?

Oh I'm sad to hear this Lianne as the Riley Jensen series is one of my fav's! I'm reading book 8 that just came out... I loved this series from book 1 and they just get better, but sounds like if you don't like book 1 you likely won't like the rest :(:(

Cherra, Harper Connelly is much more serious in tone, since the lead character doesn't possess Sookie's optimism. Harper can see how people died, so the nature of her power sets the tone.
It's more thriller than Sookie, and I don't think you get to know the characters as well as you do Sookie, Eric, Sam and the rest. It's a good series, just very different. Don't go into it expecting whimsical moments!

hmmm...good to know. just by reading the jacket descriptions i didnt think it was the same kind of series.

See that's tough for me Cherra cuz I personally loved both Merry Gentry and Anita Blake... but I know what you mean! I know there are poeple who absolutely LOVE Cassie Palmer series, but you know not all books are for everyone!:)
