message 807: by Kelley Anne (new)

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments Mary - have you listened to the other Patricia Briggs books on audio? Or is this your first time reading Moon Called? That's one of my favorite series! I also really like the audio and was happy when Moon Called was released. Hopefully soon they'll have #2 and #3 on audio too!

message 808: by Mary (new)

Mary | 7 comments This is the first time I have read Moon Called, I am about 3/4 of the way through and really like it. I have a long commute to work so audio books are great for me. I hope they release the other ones soon!!

message 809: by Vivi (new)

Vivi I just started reading Private Demon by Lynn Viehl, second novel of her Darkyn series.

message 810: by new_user (new)

new_user What do you think of it, Vivi? :)

message 811: by Vivi (new)

Vivi The first book, if angels burn was really good, and private demon is good so far, i really like that some of the characters from the first are showing up on this one, have u read any from this serie?

Is it about vampires or something paranormal?

message 815: by Kelley Anne (new)

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments Vivi - the fever series is mostly about the Fae. They are a really great, edgy urban fantasy series. Personally I recommend that you read the author's Highlander series first, because the worlds do overlap and you learn things that I think are helpful in figuring out what's happenening in the fever series. BTW, the Highlander ones are definetly PNR, while the Fever series is UF. So, very different! You don't have to read the Highlander ones to get what's going on in the Fever series, but I think that a lot of questions are answered if you do!

Yeah, I've read the whole series, loved it! I can't wait until her new series is out. :D

message 818: by Vivi (new)

Vivi I don't know much about Viehl, i just started the Darkyn. What is her new series called?

message 819: by new_user (last edited Sep 16, 2009 06:28PM) (new)

new_user Shadowlight A Novel of the Kyndred. Once you get farther along in the Darkyn series, you'll meet the Kyndred. :D I was so disappointed to learn that the Darkyn series was ending, but this takes place in the same universe, so there's potential for some vamps to show up, hehe.

message 820: by Vivi (new)

Vivi Kyndred is an interesting name, i dont like to read books that dont have good titles. A girl from another group is reading one called Mango Shaped Space, but it might be good you never know.

message 821: by LooLoo (new)

LooLoo I really liked the Darkyn series too. I thought it got much better with each book. I'm looking forward to her new series.

I hope i like it as much, im starting the second book.

message 824: by new_user (new)

new_user Cool, Vivi! Hope you have fun in the group! The Kyndred is the name of the species/series, if that helps. Shadowlight is the actual name of the book.

Sarah | 766 comments I'm feeling the need for something different, so I'm reading The Lace Reader by Brunonia Barry. I've heard it had a "Sixth Sense"-like twist at the end.

message 829: by Jess (new)

Jess | 3721 comments I've joined the masses and just finished Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. It was pretty good. I'm going out to the library today to get the next ones in the series. I must say, Dimitri is yummy :)

message 830: by Kelley Anne (new)

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments Yes he is! And he's not the only Yummy guy you'll come across!

I've got about 100 pgs. left to go, but I think I see part of where it's going. I think I get the "twist" that reviewer was talking about. This is a really good book, though, and I'm enjoying it.

message 832: by Jess (new)

Jess | 3721 comments Just started If Angels Burn.. it's not bad so far.. more going on with surgery and stuff than anything paranormal or anything. But it's good.

I really liked this series. I had to struggle with the first book but thought the series gets better as it goes.

message 834: by Melodie (new)

Melodie (melodieco) Finished the 4th Vampire Diaries book, the best so far, IMHO. And almost finished with You're Nobody 'Til Somebody Kills You A Rat Pack Mystery (Rat Pack Mysteries) by Robert J. Randisi , the newest from one of my favorite mystery series. Haven't decided what to pick up next.

message 835: by Kelley Anne (new)

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments I think that I really need to read something other than fantasy right now! I've kinda been on fantasy overload. The new Vince Flynn book, Pursuit Of Honor, comes out next month. So I think that I am going to go back and reread the entire series! One of my favorites!!!

message 836: by LooLoo (new)

LooLoo I'm reading Shadow Kiss (Vampire Academy, #3). I'm very surprised at how much I like this series.

message 837: by Jennifer (new)

Dexter in the Dark - Jeffry Lindsay

I just finished reading Magic Strikes by Ilona Andrews. It is excellent and I can't wait until late May for the next book to come out. It is very intense and one of those books that you HATE to put down.

message 840: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (theholyterror) | 115 comments Finally finished Stray, and in an attempt to finish some challenges I started a bunch of books last night. I'm going to keep reading a couple of chapters from each until one grabs me. I have a feeling that Georgina's book will be the one I finish first.

Oh I know, wasn't that a great one! I can't wait to see where things go next.

message 842: by Nita (new)

Nita (gillnit) I just finished Dark Slayer. The couple it was centered on was ok, but I did like the fact that Feehan moved the storyline along.
I am just about finished with The Forest of Hands and Teeth. Then I will start Hunting Ground.

message 848: by Heather (last edited Sep 26, 2009 02:24PM) (new)

Heather Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh
Interesting mix of paranormal and sci-fi
and Dorothy Dunnett's The Game of kings.

I just finished. What did you think?

message 850: by Melodie (new)

Melodie (melodieco) I finished Skin Deep (Laura Blackstone, #1) by Mark Del Franco , which is the first in Del Franco's new Laura Blackstone series. Story was a bit hard to follow. I've read the first 2 books in his Connor Grey series and thought they were better, but books that deal with just the fae aren't my favorite thing to read anyway. Currently reading Nevada Rose (CSI, Book 10) by Jerome Preisler and Eyes Like Stars (The Théâtre Illuminata Act 1) by Lisa Mantchev , which I have had a really hard time getting into.
