Finally finished
, it was definitely better than the first two IMHO! I am now back to the brothers and
Michelle M. wrote: "Yay, Susan! Are you feelin' the Cassie Palmer love yet?"A little bit MichelleM!! I definitely liked this one better than the first 2! And do plan on continuing the series and reading her other series too!
I am slowly (or maybe not so slowly) working my way through the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. And tomorrow I'll be reading Catching Fire! :) I'm not at all excited for this book, am I? lol I only post about it every other day!
I preordered it from BAMM, and I'm pissed cuz it hasn't shipped yet. :(
Melodie wrote: "I loved George R.R. Martin's Fevre Dream. GREAT book! "Thanks for the heads up! I'll definitely give it a go.
I'm reading Moon Called and Undone. Both are pretty good. I love Rachel Caine especially her Weather Warden books. I never read anything from Patricia Briggs until Moon Called and I definitely will read more from her.
Nita wrote: "I am reading Dreamfever. Barrons is one of my favorite characters of all times."I love Barrons too!
Please tell me about Hunger Games and Catching Fire. Kelley Anne has me intrigued so I've added them to my "to buy" list.
Looloo wrote: "Please tell me about Hunger Games and Catching Fire. Kelley Anne has me intrigued so I've added them to my "to buy" list."I second... third... the recommendation for Hunger Games. It's billed as a YA novel, but the story and characters are so complex.
I'm reading both
and
. I didn't realize that Stray was over 600 pages! It seems though that they spaced the lines apart more than normal and also increased the margin sizes. Weird. And I'm glad to finally start Moon Called, it seems like everyone but me has read this series!
Can't wait to hear what you think of Moon Called Shannon! I really liked that series and it was cool that the city it is set in is a real city and not far from where I live in Oregon!:)
Susan wrote: "Can't wait to hear what you think of Moon Called Shannon! I really liked that series and it was cool that the city it is set in is a real city and not far from where I live in Oregon!:)"I haven't gotten very far but I like what I've read. So far I like Mercy too, she seems more down to earth and level-headed than most female protagonists I've read lately. And I have to say after I read Stray and Moon Called I need to find something a little bit different to read. The whole 1st person POV kickass female with supernatural powers thing is starting to get a little old.
Michelle M. wrote: "Mercy's level-headedness and "normalcy" is precisely why I like that series!"Yeah, it's a nice departure from a lot of what's out there.
Sorry! A couple of people asked about The Hunger Games and Catching Fire a few days ago, but I haven't checked this thread in about a week, so I never responded! For those of you that haven't read either one yet, this is a MUST READ series! I have yet to find a single person that has read The Hunger Games and not loved it, and personally, I thought that Catching Fire was just as good.LooLoo - I really enjoyed Poison Study. The other two books in the series were great as well, but Poison Study is the best of the 3
Kelley Anne wrote: "Sorry! A couple of people asked about The Hunger Games and Catching Fire a few days ago, but I haven't checked this thread in about a week, so I never responded! For those of you that haven't rea..."Thanks for the info on those books. They are on my 'to buy' list for sure!
I'm about 2/3 through Poison Study and enjoying it but there is something in the back of my mind saying this feels like required reading for a class, lol. I guess I'm use to all the vamps, werewolves and sex books. LOL!
I just finished Greywalker which i didn't like to much , now im continuing on with Claimed by Shadow.
Sammy - have you read the short story in On The Prowl yet? If not, you really should read it first. It's basically the first 100 pages of Cry Wolf. As for being as good as the Mercy series, I thought that the short story was fantastic, I liked Cry Wolf but not as much as the others, and the newest book, Hunting Ground, I thought was just as good as the Mercy books.
I did the same thing when I first read it! I was about a chapter or two in and just felt like something was majorly missing!
I was reading Hunter's Moon by David Devereaux. This is my second attempt at reading the book and this time i managed to get to chapter six. I've now lost interest again. So i'm going to reread Halfway to the Grave because i can't remember what it was about.
Kelley Anne wrote: "I am reading Graceling."I loved Graceling so much that I put Fire on pre-order.
I just started Blood Promise yesterday.
I'm really enjoying it so far! The only thing that's been odd is that I am listening to it on audio book. And it's a full cast one. That's not something I'm used to. Plus they keep adding music in at places that I think are supposed to increase the suspense, but really it just makes me laugh! I don't need music for suspense. The story does that for me!
I hate when they add music! Usually they play it in places that's totally distracting or overpowers the voice track. Makes me glad I read it. :)
I just finished Blade of Fortriu. It was great. Now I'm reading Rogue by Rachel Vincent, Fool Moon by Jim Butcher, and Holy Smokes by Katie MacAlister.
I just finished Graceling and really liked it, although I listened to the audiobook and it was a bit hookey
Kelley Anne wrote: "I just finished Graceling and really liked it, although I listened to the audiobook and it was a bit hookey"Was that because of the music, or was the reader bad?
The music. It was actually a full cast read, so one reader for everything but the dialogue, and then a bunch of readers for the dialoge. And honestly, they were all pretty good. It took me a bit to get used to that kind of setup because I am so used to just one or possibly 2 readers. But the music drove me crazy! I kept feeling like I was watching some old movie where some says something that's supposed to shock or surprise you, then you hear "Dum, dum, dum" (or whatever the music happens to be). I just felt like laughing every time that they did it! Which is probably not a good thing since they were adding it to the parts that were supposed to be suspenful! So, I think that I'd recommend reading it, not listening to it.

I just finished Dark Slayer by Christine Feehan. It was excellent, although quite different from her other Dark books...it had a beta Carpathian hero!!! How about that! I loved it!
Jennifer wrote: "new_user wrote: "Jennifer, you must read Faolan's story! "Well of Shades is on its way to my library right now. I can't wait!!! "
Awesome! I wish I could read those books over for the first time again.
Kelley Anne wrote: "I just finished Graceling and really liked it, although I listened to the audiobook and it was a bit hookey"omg we read the same damn books at the same damn time kelley anne lol :P i just read graceling too lol
