Glad to hear you liked it Leslie! This has to be one of my top fav series!!!!

Susan (Suz) (sharney) | 292 comments Finally finished Embrace the Night (Cassandra Palmer, #3) by Karen Chance , it was definitely better than the first two IMHO! I am now back to the brothers and Lover Enshrined (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #6) by J.R. Ward

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1831 comments Yay, Susan! Are you feelin' the Cassie Palmer love yet?

A little bit MichelleM!! I definitely liked this one better than the first 2! And do plan on continuing the series and reading her other series too!

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments I am slowly (or maybe not so slowly) working my way through the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. And tomorrow I'll be reading Catching Fire! :) I'm not at all excited for this book, am I? lol I only post about it every other day!

message 758: by [deleted user] (new)

I preordered it from BAMM, and I'm pissed cuz it hasn't shipped yet. :(

Thanks for the heads up! I'll definitely give it a go.

message 760: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm reading Moon Called and Undone. Both are pretty good. I love Rachel Caine especially her Weather Warden books. I never read anything from Patricia Briggs until Moon Called and I definitely will read more from her.

message 761: by Nita (new)

Nita (gillnit) I am reading Dreamfever. Barrons is one of my favorite characters of all times.

message 762: by Kelley Anne (new)

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments CATCHING FIRE!!! Is anyone surprised? LOL!

I love Barrons too!

Holly (velvetsun) A Rush Of Wings by Adrian Phoenix
&
Kiss And Tell by Cherry Adair

message 765: by Kaz. (new)

Kaz. Are you liking it as much as Hunger Games Kelley Ann?

I've heard A Rush of Wings is pretty Holly.

message 766: by LooLoo (new)

LooLoo Please tell me about Hunger Games and Catching Fire. Kelley Anne has me intrigued so I've added them to my "to buy" list.

message 767: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (ellenpenleysmith) I put all of my books that I was reading on hold for Blood Promise, and it was soooo worth it!

Sarah | 766 comments Looloo wrote: "Please tell me about Hunger Games and Catching Fire. Kelley Anne has me intrigued so I've added them to my "to buy" list."

I second... third... the recommendation for Hunger Games. It's billed as a YA novel, but the story and characters are so complex.

message 770: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (theholyterror) | 115 comments I'm reading both Stray (Shifters, #1) by Rachel Vincent and Moon Called (Mercedes Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs . I didn't realize that Stray was over 600 pages! It seems though that they spaced the lines apart more than normal and also increased the margin sizes. Weird. And I'm glad to finally start Moon Called, it seems like everyone but me has read this series!

message 771: by Susan (Suz) (new)

Susan (Suz) (sharney) | 292 comments Can't wait to hear what you think of Moon Called Shannon! I really liked that series and it was cool that the city it is set in is a real city and not far from where I live in Oregon!:)

I haven't gotten very far but I like what I've read. So far I like Mercy too, she seems more down to earth and level-headed than most female protagonists I've read lately. And I have to say after I read Stray and Moon Called I need to find something a little bit different to read. The whole 1st person POV kickass female with supernatural powers thing is starting to get a little old.

message 773: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1831 comments Mercy's level-headedness and "normalcy" is precisely why I like that series!

message 774: by LooLoo (new)

LooLoo I'm starting Poison Study. I hope it's as good as the reviews.

message 775: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (theholyterror) | 115 comments Michelle M. wrote: "Mercy's level-headedness and "normalcy" is precisely why I like that series!"

Yeah, it's a nice departure from a lot of what's out there.

message 776: by Kelley Anne (new)

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments Sorry! A couple of people asked about The Hunger Games and Catching Fire a few days ago, but I haven't checked this thread in about a week, so I never responded! For those of you that haven't read either one yet, this is a MUST READ series! I have yet to find a single person that has read The Hunger Games and not loved it, and personally, I thought that Catching Fire was just as good.

LooLoo - I really enjoyed Poison Study. The other two books in the series were great as well, but Poison Study is the best of the 3

Thanks for the info on those books. They are on my 'to buy' list for sure!

I'm about 2/3 through Poison Study and enjoying it but there is something in the back of my mind saying this feels like required reading for a class, lol. I guess I'm use to all the vamps, werewolves and sex books. LOL!

message 778: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 93 comments I just finished Greywalker which i didn't like to much , now im continuing on with Claimed by Shadow.

message 779: by Kelley Anne (new)

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments Sammy - have you read the short story in On The Prowl yet? If not, you really should read it first. It's basically the first 100 pages of Cry Wolf. As for being as good as the Mercy series, I thought that the short story was fantastic, I liked Cry Wolf but not as much as the others, and the newest book, Hunting Ground, I thought was just as good as the Mercy books.

message 780: by Kelley Anne (new)

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments I did the same thing when I first read it! I was about a chapter or two in and just felt like something was majorly missing!

message 781: by Betelgeuze (new)

Betelgeuze | 158 comments I was reading Hunter's Moon by David Devereaux. This is my second attempt at reading the book and this time i managed to get to chapter six. I've now lost interest again. So i'm going to reread Halfway to the Grave because i can't remember what it was about.

message 782: by Kelley Anne (new)

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments I am reading Graceling.

Sarah | 766 comments Kelley Anne wrote: "I am reading Graceling."

I loved Graceling so much that I put Fire on pre-order.

I just started Blood Promise yesterday.

message 784: by Kelley Anne (new)

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments I'm really enjoying it so far! The only thing that's been odd is that I am listening to it on audio book. And it's a full cast one. That's not something I'm used to. Plus they keep adding music in at places that I think are supposed to increase the suspense, but really it just makes me laugh! I don't need music for suspense. The story does that for me!

message 785: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 766 comments I hate when they add music! Usually they play it in places that's totally distracting or overpowers the voice track. Makes me glad I read it. :)

message 786: by Susan (Suz) (new)

Susan (Suz) (sharney) | 292 comments I finished Lover Enshrined (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #6) by J.R. Ward and LOVED IT, and started both [image error] and At Grave's End (Night Huntress, #3) by Jeaniene Frost

message 787: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jnhart) | 97 comments I just finished Blade of Fortriu. It was great.

Now I'm reading Rogue by Rachel Vincent, Fool Moon by Jim Butcher, and Holy Smokes by Katie MacAlister.

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments I just finished Graceling and really liked it, although I listened to the audiobook and it was a bit hookey

message 791: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 766 comments Kelley Anne wrote: "I just finished Graceling and really liked it, although I listened to the audiobook and it was a bit hookey"

Was that because of the music, or was the reader bad?

message 792: by Kelley Anne (new)

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments The music. It was actually a full cast read, so one reader for everything but the dialogue, and then a bunch of readers for the dialoge. And honestly, they were all pretty good. It took me a bit to get used to that kind of setup because I am so used to just one or possibly 2 readers. But the music drove me crazy! I kept feeling like I was watching some old movie where some says something that's supposed to shock or surprise you, then you hear "Dum, dum, dum" (or whatever the music happens to be). I just felt like laughing every time that they did it! Which is probably not a good thing since they were adding it to the parts that were supposed to be suspenful! So, I think that I'd recommend reading it, not listening to it.

Penny Watson I just finished Dark Slayer by Christine Feehan. It was excellent, although quite different from her other Dark books...it had a beta Carpathian hero!!! How about that! I loved it!
