I hear alot of people talking about Bones, and I have been told he is from a vampire series. Is that true?
Yes, Bones is the hot, sexy vamp in Jeanine Frost's Nighthuntress series. The first book is Halfway to the Grave.
Thanks Yz! I do love to read. Kind of got out of the habit until someone talked me into reading Twilight back in January and since then I've been addicted to paranormal romance/urban fantasy books. I've been reading 4-5 books a week. Just finished reading Lora Leigh's Megan's Mark.

Goodreads is a great resource for finding new series.
and of course Bones is the best!!!
Me too! I hadn't read any books in months, other than books for school, and then twilight came along. And ever since I have been reading like crazy.I agree with Kendra about goodreads! Other than finding new books im on here 24/7 talking to people about books!
Thanks Yz! I am now going to have to find it!
Okay, just finished the third Immortals After Dark book, Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night. Loving this series! Bowen was as awesome as I knew he would be when he was introduced in the first book.My long lost copy of Lara Adrian's Ashes of Midnight finally arrived in the post the other day, so I'm starting that one today, anxious to reacquaint myself with the Midnight Breed boys.
Just started Industrial Magic by Kelley Armstrong, only a few pages in but looking forward to it..... Anyone else read this series, I loved the first book, Bitten, but the other books have not quite grabbed me....
Susan - perfect timing on reading Industrial Magic. That's one of this groups mini-reads this month! If you look under the section for current mini-reads, we've started to talk about it on there. Love to have your input! I have heard so much about the Adrian Phoenix series, so I finally decided to start reading A Rush of Wings.
And for those that have been chatting about Bones, I LOVE him! Can't wait for the next book!!!

I have only read the first book in the Night Huntress Series with Bones, but I loved it!!!
I'm about to start book 4 of Jennifer Armintrout's Blood Ties Series. I really like this series but I'm surprised by how many people don't. After reading so many romance/HEA books lately I guess I'm in the mood for something a little different. Does anyone know, is book 4 the last of the series or will there be more?
Susan, give it a few days and the discussions should get started. It seems to take a week or 2 usually. I personally am just starting to reread it. It's been so long since I read it the first time that I need to remind myself what happened before discussing it!

I just started it, but it feels like there are things missing that dont make sense. hopefully they will be explaned later. i'm a huge Laurell fan so im willing to keep reading.
Thanks Erin, keep me posted! I'm a HUGE Laurell fan as well, so I will probably give it a shot! I'm assuming you have read her Merry Gentry series?? If not it's a MUST read :)

I am not sure about the second one b/c the back cover doesn't sound that interesting, but I didn't want to abandoned the series. Let me know what you think about it.

I actually liked EVERMORE, but this one has a new character that I REALLY don't like and it appears he's the cause of the "badness" that's happening, but I don't know how or why yet.
I'm on a Nightside kick, reading all Simon R Green's books about PI John Taylor. Delightfully gruesome and twisty.
I'm currently reading
but I'm also getting ready to start both
[image error]
and
.Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side is ok, but I'm kind of put off by how annoying Jessica is so far. I loved the first books in both the Georgina Kincaid and Immortals After Dark series so it'll be good to continue with them.
Michelle M. wrote: "I'm on a Nightside kick, reading all Simon R Green's books about PI John Taylor. Wow, doesn't seem that long ago ... but I still to this day confuse the two series with each other.
I'm currently stuck at Sharper Than a Serpent's Tooth and can't seem to muster the enthusiasm to continue on. I'm not really sure why either ...
Erin wrote: "I'm reading Nightseer by Laurell K. Hamilton. "I loved that book. Cool take on demons huh.
Shannon, I haven't read any Dresden books yet, but I can imagine how reading two series like that at once would be confusing. I'll be sure to read some other things before I start the Dresden series!I've just started Hex in the City, so I'm not too far in. Lady Luck hires him to discover the origin of the Nightside.
Michelle M. wrote: "I'm on a Nightside kick, reading all Simon R Green's books about PI John Taylor. Delightfully gruesome and twisty."I LOVE the Nightside books. Glad you're enjoying them, Michelle. Such unique & interesting characters. I love Dead Boy!
Jess wrote: "I'm reading Darkness Revealed by Alexandra Ivy. I'm loving this series :)"I read that series about a month ago and loved it too. She has a new one coming out in Nov. I think it's about Jagr. Can't wait.
Now I'm going to have to check out Nightseer.
Oh I have her on my list, glad to hear her series is good!:) And I think I am also going to have to check out Nightseer ;) You ladies are so not helping my book addiction LOL, LOL
Do you ever have a day or two when you just can't settle on any particular book? That's how I've been the last couple of days. I'll pick up a book, it'll have my attention for a chapter or two and then I just have to switch to something else!

On my "to read" shelf in my house I have about 25-30 books in all different genres.
I'm currently in the same boat, Kelley Anne. Right now i'm in-between 4 books (a paranormal chick-lit; a historical paranormal romance; a young adult urban fantasy and a western erotica.)
Too restless to read, even last night. Decided to watch a DVD instead..LOL!

Once i felt like I was into reading again I picked up some books by some of my fave authors and it helped me get back into the groove.

Sometimes I'll switch from reading novels to reading manga then I'll stop reading manga for months. Or I'll only want to watch TV and then decide I only want to watch anime for a while and not real people.
Thankfully I'm not in any kind of rut right at this minute but I know how you feel!
I just finished
by Alyson Noel. Liked
much better. Ever just does so many stupid things in this book. I just want to slap her!Now reading [image error] by Lisa See, which is decidedly UN-U/F, and the 3rd book in
which is fun.
I'm glad you guys brought this up, I'm kind of in a funk right now too. I have about five different books in progress. I've also been trying to do a lot of writing lately, and I spent a lot of time this last week watching the dvds of the first season of HBO's In Treatment (very good, if you're wondering.) I'm just finding it difficult to focus on any one thing - and actually, I probably spend most of my time just staring at the wall drifting in my own little world. Makes it difficult to get my challenge books done!
I was in a funk for a couple of days too. Just couldn't get into anything I started.
I read The Warlord Wants Forever last night, and immediately picked up A Hunger Like No Other. Definitely out of my funk now. I'm loving this series.

I am reading the Anita Blake series again. Just finished Danse Macabre (literally like 10 minutes ago). I will be starting The Harlequin tonight.
I just finished Blood Bound, book #2 in the Mercedes Thompson series by Patricia Briggs. I really like the series so far. I'm waiting on the library for #3. I'm also reading Divine by Blood by PC Cast, Child of Flame by Kate Elliott, and Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead.
Almost forgot. I picked up a book for 50 cents called Unbound by Lori Devoti. I haven't gotten too far into it (too busy reading Mercy Thompson), but it's not too bad. It's about hellhounds, but i haven't really gotten to the plot yet.
I finished Moon Called today and can't wait for Blood Bound. :D I started Wicked Lovely today to tide me over :D
I thought the third Mercy Thompson was the best (I haven't read book 4 yet).I just finished Dawn's Awakening by Lora Leigh and I'm planning to start Red-Headed Stepchild next.
Kyle wrote: "I saw an add for Red-Headed Stepchild...tell me what you think of it when you read it :D"I read it last month. It didn't do a thing for me.
