Marta had such a rough start in life and i admire how she followed her dreams and found true love. It is so hard to blame her for wanting to make hilde stronger than her sister was. How hard must it be for marta pushing her daughter away without meaning to and realizing she started a domino effect in future generations?. The readers understand where marta is coming from but hilde does not know anything of her mother's past and does not understand how her mother loves her.
