Characters?

Are we allowed/supposed to put the fictional characters' names in the box marked 'characters'? I always assumed so and have done it a couple times, but I notice it goes to a link like Im searching for an author then I got to thinking that maybe thats only for non-fiction like biographies or something... Can someone clarify?

It's for characters in general (fiction/non-fiction)...I believe Otis & Co. have plans eventually for a character search feature (at least I think I remember hearing that), but it's not a priority. So for now it just does a search.
