Please help me track this series down!!! Demon and PR related.....

I found this book randomly at the library and I'm trying to remember details of it to share so someone might be able to help me track the rest of the books down. The book had something to do with a guy who was recruited to be in these "demon games" where there were challenges where the other competitors had to find these items and defeat certain obstacles in their search. For some reason the idea of "light and dark demons" sticks in my brain. I have googled and searched endlessly trying to track this book down again and have failed. If anyone has any idea what I'm talking about I would really appreciate a lead on this series. For some reason a detail that also sticks in my mind had something to do with an island where humans that were part of some secret organization were testing on these magical people (demons or something, can't remember who they were) and the facility that these people were kept at was destroyed and they escaped it by helicopter or something. I think I'm mixing up two different books so if anyone can clear this up for me I will love you forever!!! I read too many books and they're running all together :-(

Sorry it took me so long to get back here. I think you're right Doris283! For some reason I never read all of those books and I think I grabbed this one randomly without realizing it was in a series.

I think I am mixing up two different books so I'm still on the hunt for the book where the different demon types are being held in this military facility by humans on this island and the couple escape it just as the island is being blown up so that the world doesn't discover this top secret place. Hmmm...thanks for all of your suggestions everyone!
