The vampire Diaries & The Secret Circle

I was surprised there was no thread for these shows. which are AWESOME!

Out of the two secret circle is becoming a fast fav.
Season 3 finale of vampire diaries next week. And I think we got 2 more episodes for circle.

Watching TSC right now... TVD was awesome.. I am so sad to see both of these end for the season.. and I REALLY hope TSC gets picked up for season 2 if it hasn't already.

I do really enjoy TSC, but you can completely tell that it's created by Kevin Williamson....the characters are almost carbon copies of TVD. Other than the fact the Cassie is so much cooler, and more convincing, than TVD's Elena (spelling?).

Still, it it works, don't knock it ;)

I love diana best on the secret circle she's my favorite. and I love the fact that she's cassies half sister.

I love The Secret Circle--never got into the Diaries for some reason. I feel so bad for the author, though :( Seems like she got the shaft on those.

I like Cassie. Don't like Faye, LOL. I like Cassie's dad. Can't remember what else I've seen him in--but I hope they let him be a good guy ultimately.

I'm about 5 episodes behind on both shows. Eek!

On TVD, I was pretty much a Stefen fan until season 2, then leaned more toward Damon. Not sure who I'm rooting for now, lol. Overall though, Damon is just fun to love and to hate.

As for TSC, I like it, but I'm still trying to really get into it. The plot is definitely intriguing to me, and while I mostly like the characters, I'm kind of...unsure about the acting. I mean, it's the first season, so they're probably still trying to grow into the roles. Either way, I'll keep watching and hope it gets renewed.

klaus is'nt the orgin of there blood line. But elana is now a vampire.
Is'nt that copying twilight a little.. also it seems with klaus's death tyler

I'm glad Tyler's not dead, but I hope Klaus doesn't ride his body forever, if that's what's happening. I'm about tired of that Klaus guy, and I like Tyler and Caroline. They're not still leaving town, are they? It would be cool to see Tyler wolf again. I like that Bonnie stood up for what she wanted. I still think her and Damon would be good together- at least I'm curious. I hope Mattie's not dead. ;_; And in TVD's defense, Elena becomes a vampire in the books too, which were published more than a decade before Twilight. (hide spoiler)]

But it's a possibility they're both in there, Klaus did it with Rick when he first came into town before his body was delivered. I am going to miss Klaus' face, his character really grew on me. I'm not totally surprising about the cancellation. I'm still trying to catch up but whilst the story was interesting, the characters were just dull and wooden a lot of time. Lets hope Kevin Williamson can create something else in its place which is better.

The Vampire Diaries is a great show and I was really beginning to enjoy TSC as well.
It was so disappointing to hear it had been canceled. It caught me completely by surprise because the last I had heard it was beating shows like Gossip Girl, Nikita, and 90210 in the ratings.

I guess I'll just have to watch Williamson's new show, The Following, which is due to air sometime in midseason on FOX.

I have read both of the series. I have had them since they were first published in the early 90s. Obviously the only episode that was the same in both book and TV of TVD was the first one. TSC bounced back and forth. Loved to read both series and have read them several times!

The Secret Circle being canceled was a big bummer! I think it would have done even better the second season, since it was one of those shows that really needed some steam to get going. Oh well, life moves on, at least a lot of my other shows didn't get canceled!

I do not recommend these books to anyone. Although I love them very much, I read them back in the early 90's. Anyone reading them now, especially with the success of the shows, would just find them dull. They are very dated and nothing like the shows. If you do read them, just bear that in mind.

I actaully really enjoyed the first two books of Vampire Diaries (that's the first book now).

Just started up Vampire Diaries and I thought it was really cheesy at first I love it now. I'm already up to episode 2 in season 2. (Really late nights!)

It made me so said when (view spoiler)[Anna got killed off. She was one of my fave characters. Also when Katherine snubs Damon I wanted him to kick her ass, not make one of himself. (hide spoiler)]

I love Vampire Diaries, hated in in the begining and then watched a couple episodes of season two and from then on just had to watch lol. I couldn't believe it when I heard that Secret Circle had been cancled my dad and I loved that show lol. It makes me even madder cuz they ended that show like they were gonna have a second season! Gah!

I'm so close to being caught up to season 3. It's strange but I'm really digging the idea of Elena and Elijah hooking up.

I think Caroline and Klaus have a lot of chemistry . I like them together. Is anyone else beginning to be annoyed by Tyler?

Caroline and Klaus...mmmmaybe. It's not beyond the realms.

I actually feel a little bit of pity for Klaus. He has real motivations for doing what he does and that is actually kind of rare. I've read sooooo many YA villains that had almost zero reason to do what they do the way they do it, i.e. (Hush, Hush, Divergant, etc.)

That's why Klaus sort of reminds me of Sylar from Heroes.

It was not picked up by anyone. Netflix does have first season streaming. Netflix has been releasing new content just recently and it makes me wonder if they may think about running a second season of it. It trends as popular on Netflix.

Well, this late in the year I have my doubts if it will be picked up. A lot of the actors have already moved on to other works.

Can't believe it's taken me this long to find this thread! I've watched all of TVD - I call it research on my bio! Haven't seen Secret Circle but I noted that one of the main characters is acted by the same actress that guest starred in TVD as Tyler's werewolf friend?

I like the Klaus/Caroline dynamic too, and agree that Klaus is not a cardboard baddie, he definitely has depth.

Guys, I just discovered The Vampire Diaries!! after a two day marathon and 20 episodes on the trot I just cannot comprehend how I never heard of this show!! (the joys of living in Ireland I guess) but wow such a great plot and the cast are smokin hot! My new obsession I guess :)

Oh, they are. When you watch VD it is soooooo hard to watch them one at a time. In one weekend I watched the entire first two seasons . . . it's like you just can't look away.
