"I wonder who first picked out a mule as the type of obstinacy? How little knowledge that man must have had of women!"
So funny, I had highlighted the same quote. Yes, I guess we can no longer have any fear about Magdalen. She seems to have taken on her anger and focused it very well.I liked this one as well after the death announcement of Michael Vanstone..."To put it with my customary dash of humor—her face informed me that the most sensible action which Michael Vanstone, Esq., formerly of Zurich, had ever achieved in his life was the action he performed at Brighton on the 29th instant."
So Magdalen plans to impersonate Miss Garth in order to get to Noel Vanstone. Pretty intriguing and the "moral agriculturist" is home weaving his plans and plots.
I love his wit, it's really striking and quite funny. There is a lot going on and I'm having fun speculating as to what may come next. I'd like to see Magdalene try to appeal to Noel using her charms. Not sure that's what she has planned, but that's what I'd like to see.Still waiting for further mention of Frank. *taps fingers impatiently.*
I had also highlighted the same quote. The swindler has certainly met his match and his comment reveals his frustration.
