Paul Reed | 6 comments I'm not sure whether this has been asked before (if it has, please forgive me/ delete this post/ delete me), but why isn't Vaginal Fantasy Hangout a part of Geek and Sundry programming? It would make a perfect companion piece for Sword and Laser... either running alternating weeks, or as a replacement when S&L (God forbid!) finishes its run.

This is a great show, guys. Making up wait a month between episodes is something akin to whipping a puppy's eyes with nettles wrapped around a thorny stick.

Amber (rubicundheart) | 27 comments I'm under the impression that the book club is "for fun" whereas Geek & Sundry is along the lines of "work".

Yeah this is really cool idea, but this is just a hobby "fun" project for me. If we made it a "show" a lot more production and budget would have to come in. We'll see what happens down the line though, if the show grows and the ladies are amenable, but for now it's just a monthly fun time! :D

Lindsay (roguefire) | 85 comments Although I love Geek & Sundry, Felicia, don't mix your work with your fun! Though making an ice swan with a chainsaw hardly looks like 'work'. ;-)

This is awesome and now that semester #1 of grad school is down (and no classes as an option to take for summer) looks like I'll be joining you finally!

message 5: by Jane (new)

Jane Higginson | 180 comments I think I prefer it the way it is now monthly fun! I love it!

message 6: by Megan (new)

Megan (megsimanic) | 23 comments Yeah, don't mix work and play. I like the way it is now, just feels like a hangout with my girl mates where we can all have a good laugh and you don't have to remain professional about it.
If you guys are relaxed enjoying it then it makes the viewers enjoy it too :)

If I'm recalling correctly - Geek & Sundry was one of many channels YouTube partnered with in an effort to have more high-quality original programming available through YouTube.

Veronica has mentioned in the Sword & Laser Podcast that YouTube told them they couldn't talk about what they were drinking on the video and while there are no rating on the shows, I think they're supposed to keep it within the PG-13 realm.

I think Vaginal Fantasy would loose a lot of it's charm if it were censored by officially being part of G&S (and there would be no Absinthe!).

message 8: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay (roguefire) | 85 comments I don't think You Tube would appreciate all the cock talk either!

message 9: by Seawood (new)

Seawood I knew we'd had a thread on this!

Tweeted from the SDCC Geek & Sundry panel not so very long ago:

. @feliciaday : Vaginal Fantasy will join the @GeekandSundry lineup. Adding show called Penile Code, hosted by @day9

Sooo...will it still have booze? Can you still say "cock" a lot? Enquiring minds must know! :)

(or are you just teasing us, you naughty, naughty ladies?)

Lindsay (roguefire) | 85 comments Aww I hope this doesn't end up being "work" and not so much relaxing fun for Felicia and gang. But I'm proud to be one of the earliest members before we were famous! Lol

And Felicia just met George R. R. Martin. Jealous.

message 12: by Rasnac (new)

Rasnac | 13 comments I would prefer that they kept VF as is it, but if this new developement will provide more episodes, I'm on board!

message 13: by Caitlin (new)

Caitlin Is Youtube relaxing its guidelines for this show? I hope so! I love it the way it is. I wouldn't mind if it was just rated restricted or whatever it's called when you have to sign in to view, so long as the ladies don't have to censor themselves or stop talking about what adult beverage they're enjoying for the night :D

Hey guys! The show is EXACTLY THE SAME! We will just be linking you to the Geekandsundry channel instead of my channel to watch. But everything will stay the same!!!!!

Delighted to hear it :)

Is "Penile Code" really true?? I'd *love* to know what's on the reading list for that one, lol.

message 16: by Karina (new)

Karina Vaginal Fantasy is a wonderful addition to the Geek & Sundry line up! It's just another show that expresses what 'geeking out' really means, but not in the traditional cliche conventions. Wunderbar ladies! I can't wait.

message 17: by Justine (new)

Justine | 45 comments Great news. Anything to spread the Vaginal Fantasy love :).
I'm pretty sure the booze and cock-talk will not stop, no matter what.

message 18: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay (roguefire) | 85 comments All the new Geek & Sundry shows sound witty and fun! And Patrick Rothfuss panel? NICE!

And I too can't wait to see what's in store for Penile Code!

message 19: by Caitlin (new)

Caitlin I'm so excited about this! And I can't wait for Penile Code because I fell in <3 with Day9 when I saw him on Tabletop haha.

It looks like Penile Code is video games & beer instead of books & wine, I have no doubt it will be hysterical though. I'm pumped for the new slate of shows... now if only I could find some board gamers in my area... :s

We have totally become addicted to board games now due to watching 'Table Top', so I know what you mean!

So glad to hear that, Felicia! *shew* I was worried the smutty talk, including expletives, would be kiboshed. Yay! And congrats on the expanded show line-up!

We have to avoid the f-bomb but honestly we rarely do that anyway. I wouldn't move the show if I felt it would be changed!

message 26: by Kelly (new)

Kelly What happens if you do say it??? Do you start sounding like Beeker? Just wondering?

So is it going to remain interactive as well? Or is it becoming a "show" like Sword and Laser?

On that note though, I am subscribed to both channels so it doesn't really matter to my youtube feed.
Does this mean everyone gets better cameras and microphones?

Nope, if we upgrade the show (if it really needs it) wouldn't be until next year. We're doing the show exactly the same this month on my channel as next month on Geek and Sundry :)

I like the current style of VF. It's what a book club is, raw flowing conversations and discussions but at the same time it fits right in with Geek and Sundry line up as well.

Although, an awesome intro would be amazeballs. Perhaps something musical Felicia? Haha :D

Caitlin Felicia wrote: "Nope, if we upgrade the show (if it really needs it) wouldn't be until next year. We're doing the show exactly the same this month on my channel as next month on Geek and Sundry :)"

I like it how it is as well. I prefer it to Sword and Laser, because the latter seems a little stiff and scripted (although maybe that's just nerves showing through, because I didn't have the same reaction to the Leviathon Wakes kickoff).

message 31: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay (roguefire) | 85 comments I'm with Caitlin - I like VF more than Sword and Laser because it's not scripted. It's off the cuff and I actually feel like I'm a part of the conversation since we have the chat feature as well.

I've also enjoyed the book choices more here, but that's why there's so many different clubs!

As long as you ladies can booze it up and bleep out any drunken F-bombs, I can't wait!!

message 32: by Keidy (last edited Jul 20, 2012 05:30PM) (new)

Keidy | 313 comments I don't think you really can compare VF with Sword and Laser. They are two totally different shows and concepts. Sword and Laser is more scripted because it has a set focus on what information needs to be said. It has set goals and strives to give the best information possible about it in as little time as possible and it's professional in that aspect.

Now I'm not saying that VF is not professional but it's very much the labor of love of fantasy romance and the need of spreading the news about what they love in a much more casual setting. In this way it's a less of a show and more like reality tv in that we are getting an uncensored and relaxed aspect of the four ladies that are talking about whatever book of the month they are talking about. Felicia did say she was doing this for fun rather than having it work and that's exactly what's shown.

I love both shows equally but for very different reasons. And Sword and Laser has a DRAGON! No one messes with dragons. You all should know that! ^_^v

EDIT: A better show to compare Sword and Laser is with The Flog, and they're still freakin' awesome shows. ^_^
