xD I wish I could afford handwriting school. That would be amazing.
Speaking of handwriting, I can't remember the last time I even wrote anything down except for a signature. (Which of course is totally illegible!) It's all typing or using those silly keyboards on tablets/phones. And if auto-correct is on, look out world! :-D

I do a lot of writing & though I absolutely enjoy typing (typing class was one of my favorites), I would rather hand-write things any day! I find that my thoughts tend to flow easier when I write by hand. ;)
At this point a keyboard is sort of a natural extension to my person. (Sort of makes me sound like a cyborg or something. Scary!!) :-D
I used to practice a lot at cursive prior to university. However, just grabbed some paper from the printer (it appears that's the only paper I have on hand) and tried it again. Let's just say it isn't pretty! *laughs* :-D
I used to have sticky notes everywhere but even that's been replaced by those horrid little devices too. I should just be rebellious and get some sticky notes. That'll show those machines! :-)

I love both writing and typing. I do some of each every day. My handwriting is very similar to my mom's handwriting and I have always wished I had her handwriting but while I was growing up, it wasn't quite there. Now it's closer than it has ever been and I am happy about that:-) Course I didn't realize how much ours was alike until my dad got them mixed up lol! I took typewriting class in high school and I am so glad I had the opportunity to take it.
@Aerykah
I'm probably worse than even that! I never had a typing class because I started typing when I was around 8. (Yeah, I'm one of THOSE. Run people, run!!) :-D
@Bonnie
Interesting that you mentioned that Bonnie, my own handwriting -used- to be very similar to my mother's. So much so, if I run into something she's written a long time ago I often can't tell if I wrote it or she did. :-)

Hello! Just a warning, I won't be around much on here as I can't type fast with one hand! Two days ago I fell down the stairs... I have badly jarred my right side, particularly my shoulder. I was heading upstairs when I think my knees gave way and I fell down about half the stairs. Hit my head, hurt my ankle, knee, hip, shoulder and wrist. Not fun. Nothing broken but very badly battered. So I have my arm in a sling at the moment and typing is hard! I will be back though when I can!

My brother (the comp tech) didn't start typing until he was a teenager, but that was about 20 years ago. :P I don't think he even remembers how to write a note anymore... He would much rather get on an electronic gadget of some sort & type it. He's been teased many times that he wouldn't know what to do if all his electronics were taken away. And he's terrible even with auto-correct & spell-check. lol! ;P
@Soph
Goodness! I hope you feel better soon!!
One thing, the way you wrote that reminded me a bit of Pride & Prejudice: "“excepting a sore throat and headache, there is not much the matter with me.” ;-)
Get well soon! :-D
@Aerykah
Well... in my case spell check is usually wrong if there's a problem. This could be due to all the Regency stuff I'm reading lately. The language creeps into one's vocabulary when least expected. (Lately I'm just giving up. If I wax poetical in Regency-speak, too bad!) I have to turn auto-correct on ANY device off. Very often the topics I text about aren't in the phone's dictionary anyway. I think the funniest auto-correct issue I had was when I was texting about encryption and it went bonkers and sent everything in Spanish. As usual I was rapidly tapping and not paying attention before I sent it. :-)

I know I already told you this, but... Praying for ya!

lol! Yeah, same here. Imagine how much fun spell-check has just with my name! :P I can just hear it-- "Um... ma'am, I don't think you spelled your name right."
I know exactly what you mean! My brothers & mom like to tease me when I start talking like the people in my books. :P But it's just too much fun for it to bother me, so I just laugh along with them & keep right on going.
My bro-in-law has the hardest time with auto-correct. We can't figure out why he doesn't just turn it off. He's kinda deaf & really mixes up words when he isn't wearing his hearing aids -- my sister says, "When I read texts from him that don't make any sense at all, I imagine that's what I *sound* like to him when he doesn't have his hearing aids in." lol! And he agreed. :P

Same here! I've done that too...lol
@Soph
I am so sorry hear that...I will pray for a quick recovery! Feel better soon!
@Aerykah
Too funny!
I often feel that auto-correct messes the messages all up. My cousin and I often get messages from each other that we know auto-correct changed just before the other hit send. We used to be like, what? And have to go back and check. We'd say, I didn't type that! Lol The messages would make no sense at all.

Nice list. I really think you need to try Kara Louise. I read 2 of her books this year and both made my top ten books of the year. Clean Jane Austen Fan Fiction is so hard to find.

A bad accident happened a few hours ago near my hometown. Via the news: One person is dead and several are injured after a truck crossed a highway center line and barreled through a group of motorcycle riders... the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported. As many as 14 motorcycles were involved in the accident. No word yet on the condition of the injured persons.
Please, please pray for all the folks involved in this wreck!!

I just found out that the man who died is the cousin of a man in my church. Special prayers for the Slate family are appreciated. 4 people were taken to the local hospital & 3 others were medi-flighted to a large medical center in Oklahoma City-- we're assuming that means that those 3 have worse injuries, though we still don't know much.
Again, thank you for the prayers!

My dad has heard some updates about the victims of the motorcycle accident... They think the man in the pickup may have blacked out & that's why he crossed the center line. Dad said he was begging the police to kill him because he couldn't handle the fact that he was responsible for a death and several injuries. They finally had to sedate him. I don't know how he's doing now, but he definitely needs prayers!
The wife of the man who was killed has some broken ribs and bad road rash. And Dad also said that a couple of the injured bikers ended up losing partial limbs. Continued prayers definitely needed for them!

Update: Four people ended up needing amputations. And others had injuries such as broken bones. From what I've heard, they are all recovering well.
The man responsible for the accident had been texting & dropped his phone. He leaned down to pick it up out of the floor & swerved into the bikers' lane. I mentioned before about him wanting the police officers to kill him... He is now in a mental health center.

No problem, Aerykah - thanks for the update. Those poor people, including the driver responsible....such an awful thing that could have been avoided....another horrible tragedy on why a person shouldn't text while driving. :( :( It's hard to forgive someone for something so damaging, but we have an example and a person doesn't have to do so alone. The families of those hurt or killed must really be having a difficult time. I'll definitely be praying for everyone. He needs to forgive himself, and there is One who can help him do that. Just think, he doesn't know there's a group on goodreads praying for him.
Has anyone here ever watched Hallmark's TV show, "Signed, Sealed, Delivered"? I just recently started watching it and it's super cute and entertaining!

SSD is my favorite show ever! =)

I don't -- can't stand the stuff! -- but I know Alice sure does ;) and many of the others too.

Lol! :D Well, I guess we won't get kicked out of the group for not drinking coffee, right? :P ;)

Well, if I haven't gotten kicked out for hating coffee by now, I'd say we're safe. Lol! ;)
Nice to have another non-coffee-drinker in the group, btw. ;)

Whew, ok, glad to know we won't get kicked out! :D Cause I like it here! :) Thanks! :)
